Bouncing off of clouds we were
Is there a love lost and found?

Make it easy, make this easy
It's not as heavy as it seems
Wrapped in metal, wrapped in ivy
Paint it in mint ice cream

We could be bouncing off the top of this cloud ''(I'll put on my silver)''
Bouncing off the top of this cloud

Failure to respond but
I did, but did you listen?

Bouncing off the top of this cloud ''(I'll put on my silver)''
About what you said, has it come to this? ''(I'll put on my silver)''
Bouncing off the top of this cloud

Well, you can stare all day at the sky
But that won't bring her back, that won't bring her back
You said you're waiting on fate
But I think fate is now, I think fate is now waiting on us

Make this easy, easy, easy
We could make this easy, easy, love, easy
We could make this easy, make this easy
It's not as heavy as it seems
Make this easy, make this easy
It's not as heavy as it seems
Wrapped in metal, wrapped in ivy
Blue umbrellas now smiling

We could be bouncing off the top of this cloud ''(I'll put on my silver)''
About what you said, has it come to this? ''(I'll put on my silver)''
Bouncing off the top of this cloud ''(I'll put on my silver)''
About what you said, has it come to this? ''(I'll put on my silver)''

Ooh, that's harsh. I generally loathe Tori, but I don't mind this.

If you haven't seen her live already, you MUST SEE TORI LIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you for being one of the only stations that faithfully plays Tori!
Love the lyrics:
Make it easy
Make this easy.....
It's not as heavy as it seems
{#Notworthy} LOVE TORI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've never been a Tori fan, however, I don't dislike her music. I appreciate her when I hear her and respect her as a songwriter/musician. This is the first time I've heard this track and I quite like it. It really jumped out at me, which her music hasn't done for me before. It is a step in a different direction compared to what I've heard from Tori in the past and I like where she's going. She's suffered the Kate Bush comparison for years, and at the beginning, I was right there with many others, waving my "critic's finger". I don't now. It's nice to see an artist grow and evolve like she has.

...and she can't go wrong having Matt Chamberlain play for her, he is a phenomenal drummer.
I'd just like to point out one thing: There is no "i" in cloud. Thank you. 3
I never get tired of listening to Tori

{#Bounce}
this is the only song of hers I have ever liked.
(though she still sounds like Kate Bush)
Is the name of this LP influenced by the name Insane Clown Posse?

Agreed. Works for me too.

she thinks she is cindy lauper... {#Shhh}

It doesn't sound like that on my CD or MP3... and I only hear in certain parts on here.  That's odd... {#Think}

Psst, don't tell anyone that I occasionally listen to ye olde tyme radio, but weasel is still around if you know where to look.
This raises the age-old question; which came first - the chicken or the hair helmet?
a boring song from tori, yeah it's boring, don't play this again, pleeaaassseee....

Liked her so much that you can't remember how to spell her name? ;)

Too conservative for you, eh?
this totally sucks
nice track. this works for her.

I can't help myself from tapping my foot to this one. Tori will get me through this afternoon!
If I had rope long enough, I'd probably take care of myself.
the stream died and now it's silent. i'm ok with that for the moment.
Saw her live a few months ago. Man, the things she does to that piano bench... Or is that the things she do? gramatically challenged.
Tori only gets better...
I like it, too. Sure, pure pristine unproduced raw Tori is amazing, but there's plenty of room in Tori's musical universe for stuff like this -- good stuff like this
I just bumped this up.
electronicshaman wrote:

ColdBear wrote:
Does anyone hear the very bad compression. Her voice is distorded, and it is truly annoying. Love Tori, you dont deserve that.
I agree. Her earlier stuff wasn't as overproduced and sounded MUCH better. Lots of pop stuff, especially in the last several years, is seemingly produced and mixed for iPod listeners who commute on a noisy NYC subway. And genuinely magical artists, like Tori, don't need a bunch of overdone effects in their mix to make up for a lack of talent. Tori isn't Britney Spears or Kelly Clarkson but the producer and/or engineer gives her the same treatment on this CD.
Ooo! I like!
I definitely liked her more when she wasn't crap
Not so good. I admire her for doing this.
Oh, Tori. Thanks for being such a freak.
ColdBear wrote:

...i think the distortion is a production decision on this track, part of its sound by design - i like it...

Funny in an interview on WHFS out here, (Weasel was the DJ, pretty sure).... Anyways, Tory said she had never heard of Kate Bush.
I have no idea when the interview was given, but she was yanking the DJ's chain. I'm pretty sure she's said that Bush was an influence. And I don't think many musicians lived through the 80's without at least hearing one Bush song. With that said, I think Joni Mitchell influenced Amos more than Bush.

I'm indifferent to Tori, but that's funny shit.
Great Tori tune. I think the album is overkill but this is one of my favorite tracks.

spark?
Saw her last month for the first time in 10 years! It was outstanding. Her look sure has changed but her voice was golden.
Love you Tori!
Great tune, and no, that is NOT a cock in her hands!

If you love Tori, and I have since Little Earthquakes, you have to love this. The CD is loaded with some solid songs. Not necessarily her best but close to it. One man's opinion, she is one of the most prolific and talented artist around. I saw her in concert in NYC recently and she put on an excellent show.
electronicshaman wrote:
Yeah, come to think of it, that cover does bite. Looks like the work of an early 90's designer wannabe let loose with photoshop. not a patch on this one though... still hate the song, nails on a blackboard etc...
WOW, that's so wrong on so many levels. Yes, it gets my vote for shitiest cover ever.
Easily the best song on the album, which is bittersweet. Parts of the album wander into the bizarre... she took way too many creative liberties. Nonetheless, it is good to hear her rocking out again.
Tedious. Ponderous.

This sounds like it could use a few more kbps on the encoding. Either that or the engineers put flange on the final mix.

Very poor encoding. It whistles a lot, and ruins Tori voice...

Same here, but the mute button on my keyboard's too small for my foot. Ho hum defined.
Honeyman wrote:

Yowling cats are not acceptable, so not a 4. They're also anything but ho-hum, so not a 3 either. Are they marginal? Well, yes, in that they're on the very edge of what we would find tolerable. Like dental drilling when you really need it. Moreover, I would certainly consider throwing water on this song to make it stop. Sounds like this is a yowling-cat 2.

I heart this song. *bounces in her chair* A 9 for me.

Such a wonderful freak she is
Wow, a Tori song that I LIKE. It's probably because she sounds a lot like Kate Bush here. (I know, it's been said before.)
I actually like this song, but it's possibly the worst album cover ever.

yuk yuk. pretty dumb. and how about putting down that chicken.
Probably my second favorite song off of the album. I'd love it if you played it! By the way, this album is equal to Little Earthquakes or Under the Pink, in my opinion. Definitely some of her most honest, inspired work.
Have always liked this & never knew what it was. Thank you RP.
Have the vocals been processed in some weird way or is this just an extremely bad MP3?
wish she would just stop trying to be Kate bush. Hate it 2/10

In the words of Mr. Burns, " I know what I hate, and I don't hate this ". A solid 7.5.

Yes, I immediately thought Kate Bush as well. Didn't know Tori understood the concept of rhythm. Like this, 7

Yeah, put my headphones on after my last comment and noticed what you did, the rapid L-R shifting. Peter Gabriel does that on Solsbury Hill -- it's okay on speakers, but it's really annoying with headphones (unless you like that sort of thing).
leathepea wrote:
Is the sound quality supposed to be this bad on this song?
I was just wondering the same thing, it sounds like it was recorded on a cassette tape in some sections -- I believe it was intentional, but the purpose of the effect is lost on me.
this is great. my fiance who really just barely tolerates tori (I LOVE HER) actually enjoys this album! I think it's the stronger use of guitars and percussion with the piano as more of a force rather than a focus of the song.
My favorite Tori Amos since "Under the Pink"

Wow! A Tori Amos song that doesn't completely suck. Who would've ever thunk it?
I know! I know! My thoughts exactly. Woulda never thunk it myself: a Tori Amos song I kinda almost sorta like. Wow!
Is it Tori Amos without all the pianism, or is it Kate Bush without the dancing?
This was an amazing song. First time I heard it. Buying the album tomorrow...
Is the sound quality supposed to be this bad on this song?
ok I'm officially tired of this album...
Love the "rolling" piano melody throughout the song!
Love!
