Hey
Hey

We know a place where no planes go
We know a place where no ships go

Hey
No cars go
Hey
No cars go
Where we know

We know a place no spaceships go
We know a place where no subs go

Hey
No cars go
Hey
No cars go
Where we know

Hey
Hey
Hey, again
No go

Hey
Us kids know
Hey
No cars go
Where we know

Between the click of the light and the start of the dream
Between the click of the light and the start of the dream
Between the click of the light and the start of the dream
Between the click of the light and the start of the dream

I don't want any pushing, and I don't want any shoving
We're gonna do this in an orderly manner
Women and children
Women and children
Women and children, let's go
Old folks, let's go
Babies needing cribs, let's go

This was my favorite book when I was four or five.  Thirty years later it was my son's favorite.
Been to two Arcade Fire concerts, this one made me cry both times.

Is he related to Arthur Numan (Dutch soccer player)?
Drop acid & go to the recording studio...bad trip i guess. 3

Im  trying to figure them out. The vocals confuse me. The title track is infectious but I think maybe its a little fatiguing.  Shame because I was hoping goth would get a little air time as a result of their success

And Lumineers.... although they put a big twist on all that by adding the "Ho!"

If memory serves, this was on AF's EP, with considerably less production value...

And really...if you're gonna shout "Hey!" ...isn't just proper to finish with a good "Ho!"
Is Phil Spector out of jail?

This sounds like something you'd hear on AM radio back around 1983.

So go there and leave me alone.

No.  I haven't heard anything I like from this band.
{#Motor} do not enter.
I haven't heard something this massively cheesy come out in the 21st century yet.

Is that the one that started, at the latest, in the 1920s (thinking Collegiana here, fwiw)?  Or perhaps
the 1940s Pennsylvania 6-5000.  And continues to this day.  Some are certainly better than others.

As for this song, I'm starting to develop a very strong dislike for it.  6->4.

Pablum comes to mind.

The current trend of shouting repetative cheers within a pop music tune just doesn't work for me... whatever.

{#Yes}   Sid, I like that comment.  You don't mind if I call you Sid, do you?
Love Arcade Fire!  So unique, and talented.  Very gifted band.
Wow...Like this.

I actually like this CD much better than the Suburbs. The Suburbs was kind of a let down.

i as well.

i was late to the game with AF. but i'm liking them more and more.
Saw them live, excellent show!!!

Enough Arcade Fire. A good band — but also instantly recognizable on virtually every cut — similar arrangements, robo drumming, the lead singer's voice — and so it becomes tiresome.

That might come from the New Order influence I hear in their music, not a bad thing in moderation

Now that you mention it, the whole intro to Little Talks sort of sounds like this tune too. Great catch! This song's awesome too by the way.

Yeah I'm not going to argue good/bad but you seem to think this is a major corporate schlock band when they're anything but. They're still on Merge, fer chrissakes.

This is such a great song on all levels.
I find myself liking the rhythm section of AF and hating the melodies - they seem so uninspired generally... Not sure what my problem is...
A little too Monsters-And-Men for my tastes.
I love the instrumental after 'between the click of the light and the start of the dream'. Solid 8, almost a 9.
Stop dogs Stop!  The light is red.
Go dogs go!  It's green ahead! {#Tongue}

Absolutely loved this book as a kid. I forgot about it for a decade and then started jonesing for it...but I'd forgotten the title! I asked children's librarians and bookstore owners, but no one had heard of a book about dogs driving in cars and living in trees. I could not believe their ignorance of this masterpiece.

And then one day I started babbling about this Lost Chord while working at a think-tank in DC and one of the internresponded, "Oh, you mean 'Go Dog Go!'"

That moment of revelation may not have been the high point of working at that place, but it was pretty damned close. Promptly went out to the nearest bookstore and bought a copy—still have it.

Excellent. I have to go visit that area someday. Friend of mine was at Yep Roc for a decade or so but now is booking bands for a club in Durham.

Yeah, it does.  It's kinda a precursor to their more concept album.  Urban\suburban isolation is an ongoing theme for these guys.  Kinda ironic really, considering their hipster style of dress and presentation.  That being said, I'm a big fan of AF and completely get their point.

 Very Pixies!   I like it!

This song is so exciting, always manages to make me mourn the end ... Seriously, it's the best song from Arcade Fire
...thematically, this kind of belongs on the suburbs, doesn't it?..
Not a fan.
...just primal!..
I must have missed it, cause I rated it a 6 before and now it's a 8 !
Wow, love this track.  Played it to death on my ipod for awhile ... nice to hear it again!
I love this track, some people might have missed it on the first Arcade Fire EP, it's good to see it revisited. There's a sort of Talkingheads feeling to this band and I think this song is a prime example of that.
