Hey, where were you today?
How did you escape?
The way no one gets away
'Cause no one's gone
Fate guided me to hate
Invited me to take the bait
Realized too late
That I was gone
Say, how can you explain
Person to the pain
And then sickness to the sane?
But it's all gone
Most of us get riled up
Justify the lies that we believe
Not enough to disbelieve them
I've been thinking you've been treating
Situations seemingly unkind
Stockade seems to still be working
Change of heart
Save yourself
So damn long
I get ashamed
So much sound
I kiss the ground
How did you escape?
The way no one gets away
'Cause no one's gone
Fate guided me to hate
Invited me to take the bait
Realized too late
That I was gone

I am on vacation, but logged in so I could add my voice to the negative comments. Yet another song I never heard before, not even the band ... and liked it so much I needed to check and see who it was. A big reason why Iisten to and support RP.
Update: 7 years later and I still had to stop what I was doing to find out who this excellent band was. Says a lot for the band, not so much for my memory!

Agree with the "annoying", "uninteresting" comments. Even as background music for work, this was annoying enough to have me open a browser window and offer up this opinion.
So "moving" might be another adjective.

Yayyy!!! for a true modern guitar band. They know how to lay it down.

This sounds better than the usual Built to Swill
One or two clankers, but there a several really good cuts. Worth owning. Quite affordable used on Amazon, too.

I really like these guys. I finally realized I was picking up on (what I perceived was ) a sort of Wishbone Ash / Argus kinda vibe in this tune {exit the Way-Back machine now...}

I hear a riff from Mountain's wonderful Theme From and Imaginary Western“ Wonder if that was intentional?

I did the same thing and was a little disappointed as well. A couple of the songs are good but most of the album uses the same formula over and over. I rarely listen to it now.
I bought this disk based on hearing it here. Reminds me a lot of Crazy Horse and that guy's voice is even similar to Neil's. But after listening a few times I don't really have the urge to go back to it. It is kind of monotonous and repetitive, no really killer guitar work like I expected.

Nice build.
I think it's pretty lame that I'm posting twice in a row, but I just HAD to point out, once again, how cool this song is. It's pretty effing cool.
This band rocks! I love the organ too -- gives it a very classic, prog-rock feel. This song feels like it has withstood the test of time, but it's new, right? :)

Rocks pretty good! Definitely have to check these guys out further. A hear a little Wilco thrown in there as well. A solid 8 from me.
nice!
What a voice, what a guitar!
Tried to ignore these guys, but this doesn't work any more.
Whoa! Thanks, RP!
This guy has a great spooky quality to his voice. This song is really growing on me. Good thing I have Radio Paradise. Because I'm not likely to hear it anywhere else.
Damn, I love that ominous organ.
I love that bass at the end of the song

I think they would consider that a compliment. They're big fans of Neil.
Cover art reminds me of the Chameleons UK album from the 80s...or was that the 90s? I'm getting old...

I dunno. I saw them live this fall and they just don't float my boat. They're o.k., but they don't stand out as special to me.
The friend I saw them with thinks they're the greatest band EVER, so maybe it's just me.
OK, 5 listens later, I am really starting to like this. Hmmm, maybe someone who picked this song has a better ear than I.
You are playing this song far too much. Built to spill is cool, but not every single day.
Hmmm, acoustic guitar and electronic organ. Reminds me of a bad church band. Sorry, just a 6 for me.
my patience is GONE.

Y'know, these guys have really grown on me along with The Shins. Both bands have odd kinda vocal styles but the music is very unique, creative and enjoyable. Yeah, you can accurately claim the song seems to go on a bit longer than you might like.
I always enjoy this one
I may have to buy this.

I really hear Mountain Nantukett Sleighride in this. Which is not a bad thing. Go Felix!

First Ranked this at a 5 (I like their music but this didnt grab me), but then the organs came in at the end and the whole song was pulled together. 5=>8.

The same thing just happened to me! My heart started beating faster as soon as RP transitioned from the piece before. Want to go read all about the instrumentalists, which are quite impressive! The singing seems to take a back seat, and the melody isn't especially coherent, but no one is off key. The guitar note-bending is creating backflips in my stomach (in a good way). Now they have added organ sound that combines suspenseful with churchlike in its riffs. Got to find out more about this group!
image of organ needs to go here
I am intrigued! Thank you, RP!

Sounds not too bad...! But what about a common gig of this band and Grobschnitt (cf. https://www.stephan-schelle.de/grobschnitt/)?
Dull, but I heard a few notes that reminded me of Nantuk Sleighride by Mountain. Must did that up.
