Help yourself, don't say a thing
Your love won't show in anything at all
If all you do is talk

Sadly I remain in need
Of all the things you say but leave in speak
All you do is talk

Help yourself, don't think
Help yourself, don't speak
Help yourself, don't say a thing at all
You're lucky, words don't bleed

You time the end of all we see
You say we're on our way and all will be
Alone in everything

You say it's all we'll ever need
You've found an easy way but still you weep
Alone in everything

Help yourself, don't think
Help yourself, don't speak
Help yourself, don't say a thing at all
You're lucky, words don't bleed

Help yourself, don't say a thing
What love you show won't mean a thing at all
If all you do is talk

Sadly we remain to see
What brings an end is also what we need
All you do is talk

Help yourself, don't think
Help yourself, don't speak
Help yourself, don't say a thing at all
You're lucky, words don't bleed

Did it again just now - 6 months later? Needs attention William, please.
I put everything down, I stop doing what I'm doing, I turn the vollume UP! This just get's better and better...

i think this one was written about my ex-husband.

i hope he hears it one day, but i doubt he will. he'll be too busy talking.

Saw them in Portland, OR several years ago -- they absolutely rocked the house. Female drummer was punishing the drumset like a possessed banshie.

"9 bullets" - that's movie I meet BRMS.

Ok, Boomers!
I generally miss the broad appeal of this band, but this track rocks and always inspires a volume increase or six...
Saw them with NWG... forever grateful for that.

Long live boomers.
Saw them twice in DC at the 930 - back in the oughts. Great shows. Remember shows...?

A really class band IMHO.  A unique, distinctive sound. >8

Very much appreciated. Those touches add a lot to the programming. That and the excellent music!

rock song??? this is just plain pop
You want weird? Michael Been was born in OKC, OK in 1950. Dwight Twilley was born in Tulsa, OK in 1951.

Similar influences creating their music; some of which may have worked down to Robert and Peter? Who knows.
Hoestly this tune is just very average , great band for a wedding party but they won't fill Wembley

Dwight Twilley - there's a name I haven't heard or read in about thirty years.  I'd be surprised if these guys ever even heard of him.  You never know.

That's funny, and I can understand all the "derivative' comments. The first time I heard this I thought it was a rip off of My Morning Jacket's "The Way That He Sings", but it's grown on me.

Love this band!
I m so glad this song is in the "rotation".
Big sound, great vocals and the bridge is perfect. 8.66
BRMC is an excellent, and largely overlooked, band.
The more I hear this song the better it gets!  I bumped it from 8 to 9.  Just a magnificent piece with a title that's appropriate for many a person nowadays.
Where the Streets Have No Talking!

This whole album is excellent driving music.
AWESOME SONG

Really, really like this song... been on playlists at my house since i first heard it here, on RP, back in 2007/08... cannot be overplayed IMHO.

An amazing piece of work. if you'd like some background on Peter Hayes, check out a documentary called Dig! With the Bryan Jonestown Massacre And the Dandy Warhols. I really like these guys. In that film, there's a scene in a parking lot of Peter Hayes talking about his other band, BRMC, at the breakup of BJM. Really good documentary. Heh. This song. I can't help but believe it's at least partially aimed at Anton.
{#Bananajam}Have added a few of their tunes to my library  !! thumbs up on this one!

The songs of this band, in the generality, are very well constructed and structuralized, and also carefully and well performed. Of the Band B.R.M.C. i detach in particular the song "American X", from the 2007 album "Baby 81", which includes a developed electric-guitar solo absolutely amazing. Both guitarists, Peter Hayes and Robert Levon Been, are also excellent performers in acoustic guitars, and the 3rd element of the band, drummer Leah Shapiro, her is a pulsating rock, flawless. In addition to the interest and musical value of BRMC, in this area of music, which i appreciate, also say that it is interesting the name of this band "Black Rebel Motorcycle Club", have been inspired from Marlon Brando's motorcycle gang in the 1953 film "The Wild One".

I really like BRMC!!  Really good music! {#Motor}

Poor O'Riley has to spend his days behind a desk.

Oh my - what to expect from this poor soul?

Heard that "Forest" is making it back to the PL. Football is certainly something

You can doubt all you want, but this song bears more than a passing resemblance to All These Things That I've Done.
LOVE the tune. Dreamy downbeat inspiring intrigue. Convertible high speed highway perfection.

Yeah, but.  "81" is code in the biker world for "Hells Angels" (they have a patch for it too).  Wiki says "Red and white are also used to display the number 81 on many patches, as in "Support 81, Route 81". The 8 and 1 stand for the respective positions in the alphabet of H and A. These are used by friends and supporters of the club, as only full members can wear any Hells Angels imagery."
This fits into the mileau of them being a rebellious motorcycle club, but a "baby" one, as in being aspirational.  Interesting that they also have a "1%" patch, meaning 99% are law-abiding, but 1% are not."  Another view of the 1% - 99% dichotomy.  It would be interesting to hear what actual members of BRMC say about the Baby 81 meaning.  I guess I could google it.

beautiful song! especially the beginning:  the art of slowing down in near perfection...
reminds me of some very old Vanilla Fudge
Like it, despite the singer's apparent case of lockjaw.
Great sound. Great sound.
Going to iTunes in a jiffy to load this one down. Download this one up. Or something. Another cut of upbeat music and downbeat lyrics. BRMC seems to specialize in that.

Fred, I adore you.

BRMC is really one of the most consistent yet underrated bands out there.  All of their albums are amazing, especially Howl.

Love it. :)

Borderline goose-bump song ! {#Yes}
Nice!!

Thought it was The Doves.

Right now, my favorite lyric is "You're lucky words don't bleed". Ouch.

Love BRMC Their guitar work is sublime.
This Intro !!! Wow  To me is a 10.
But for the all song 8

I think the neighbors now know this tune (yeah, I had the old Z-560 cranked a bit high)

? One starts with an organ, the other with a guitar. Two different cord progressions. I guess they're both "echoy" but that's about all I see....

The way this song builds at first i was expecting a lot more, too bad....

I really like the way this song builds into a guitar wall of sound. It reminds me of the first time I heard a Neil Young and Crazy Horse album with all that fuzz tone guitar - nice.
Why is it that my stream cuts out on the good songs like this one and plays perfectly on the sucky ones like the one Bill played before this one?

Love them and soon they are in Malmö at KB, ROCK on.
