Is it the lies?
Is it the style?
It's a mercenary territory
I wish you knew the story
I've been out here so long dreamin up songs
I'm temporarily qualmless and sinking

I've did my time in that rodeo
It's been so long and I've got nothing to show
Well I'm so plain loco
Fool that I am I'd do it all over again

Is it the style?
Is it the lies?
Is it the days into nights
Or the "I'm sorry"s into fights

Now some kind of man, he can't do anything wrong
If I see him I'll tell him you're waiting
'Cause I'm devoted for sure but my days are a blur
Well your nights turn into my mornings

Well I did my time in that rodeo
Fool that I am I'd do it all over again

Is it love keeps you waiting so long
Makes you say I'll see you around
The forces that be, they just don't see
While your nights turn into my mornings

Is it the style?
Is it the lies?
Is it the days into nights
Or the "I'm sorrys" into fights

The first thing I bought when I graduated from college in 1981 was a new turntable. $365 was a lot of money back then, so I made them throw in a half-speed master copy of this album.  Been playing it ever since - my favorite live album of all time.

Yes!

That was Tower of Power's Mimi Castillo.

Maybe

Bob Seger's double live is one of the best live rnr albums ever!

Its live, man

Them the risks

I am new to the Little Feat party. They sound similar to other bands but their sound is still so unique and awesome. I am trying to figure out whose voice sounds likes Lowell George’s but can’t put a handle on it.
The best live album of all time!  Amazing sound quality.
Any song played off this superb live album gets a minimum score of 8 from me.

8 for the sax work alone!

Edit: I was going to mention how the sax reminded me of the saxophonist on the SNL band... Well, I wonder why: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lenny_Pickett

Sweet.

3 for the sax. That was harrowing.
In the early 70s Little Feat was always big in Houston thanks to K-LOL(Runaway Radio) and  KILT-FM (FM100)
Outstanding. LG at his best, a talent taken away far too early...
The all time best live album.  Amazing sound quality and performance.  I would have given anything to have been there.
simply a great song from a great album/cd

highly recommended
Lowell and Co. were awesome man
Everybody in my alien space craft be dancing!  Love it!
Another one that just sounds fantastic through the 192k OggVorbis feed!
Much prefer this version over the studio version.  Actually, this is one of my all time favorite live albums.
One thing to say: Tower of Power horns

The solos did it for me. These sound better live than most studio stuff.
In my Top 5 live albums ever. Here's my list, in no particular order:

One More From The Road- Lynyrd Skynyrd
Waiting For Columbus- Little Feat
Live At Leeds- The Who
Get Yer Ya-Yas Out- The Stones
One For The Road- The Kinks

Also, I would say that the version of The Feat that is still touring is worth seeing. They can rock it with the best.

But back in the day, with Lowell George? When they were good, there was no better live band on the planet.
And that's for reals. {#Bananapiano}
Fool that I am, Ill buy it all over again!
Feat fan then,feat fan still.
Never got to see them tho. {#Sad}
THIS band should have gotten the kind of attention and accolades that the Grateful Dead got. They were a much better band of musicians IMHO. This is a great, great live album! Yep.{#Bananasplit}
Got room for one more, romeotuma?  I brought chips and salsa...
The album was very well recorded - sounds great on an audiophile rig, especially Spanish Moon!
You must... you must... click through to purchase this album right NOW!!  {#Tongue} Confucius say, Many more tasty treats in store for you!!

Nice...but the sax line makes me feel like I should be watching a late night talk show  :)
This is so good.  Gotta love the hammock too.  Go Lowell and Lenny!

LF has certainly lived on past Lowell George, to an extent.   I thought they put out several competent albums in the years following his death.   Let It Roll & Representing the Mambo were better than average.  Paul Barrere and Bill Payne, in particular, are great musicians.   I remember reading a review of Let It Roll in 1988 in a local San Francisco newspaper.   The reviewer noted that LF still sounded very good.  But he noted that without Lowell George, they no longer sounded dangerous.     I now think about that every time i listen to LF.  It rings true to me.    With Lowell George, they sound like something unpredictable will happen anytime.   Without Lowell George, they just sound like a tight bar band.

Interesting and notable observation. I love Let It Roll! But point taken.

Agreed - I'm just catching on to them. . .pity Lowell George left us so early - I would have loved to see him&them live.

Oh Yes!

Excellent!  Long time since I heard Little Feat
Isn't this a nice treat!

OUCH. The screeching horn or whatever - is painful.

Yeah, as in "Waiting for Columbus"!

Get it?

(hint: what do tomatos have in common with squash, potatoes, corn, etc...)

Also, yes, one of my all time favorite records (then disc, then mp3).

But wasn't there talk about the live tracks had studio dubs after the fact?  Regardless, doesn't dilute the genius as far as I'm concerned.

I'll need to listen again to confirm, but sounds like a sax to me... maybe Lenny Pickett?

I said to myself, who the hell puts an accelerating turbine in a song?!?!  It gives me hearing loss!

So many memories of this great band, takes me right to the party! Cheers!

A great album and a great band. Lowell George we miss you.

Ditto, but they are still a great band. Go see them if they are in your area. Saw them just a year or so ago at the BellyUp. Payne is still one of the all time best keyboardists. They still rock your socks off.
I guess I am not alone in not really liking Little Feat, but this is good. Possibly too much radio overplay of the same tired pieces has the well-known effect of obscuring the good material by any musicians.

I had no idea that Jrzy was a cover girl !
The best live album ever.
One of the best live albums ever recorded. I will never forget seeing them live during this tour, awesome.
In this tune Lowell pulls off an incredible guitar solo, at the end of which you can hear him let out a yell of joy, this pushes the sax player from The Tower Of Power horns to an incredible solo of his own. Both solos make the hair stand up on the back of my neck. Amazing!
I was enjoying the song right up until the high pitched whine at the end that sounded like a speaker test.
Had to rip my headphones off to avoid hearing damage.  Jeesh!
I love Little Feat, but wow.  My ears are ringing now.
Bill, please..

"All That You Dream", the version on this very same record. I clicked over on the artist page, and can't even vote for it over there.

Thanks for this one, though...8.
The funny thing is I don't really care for Little Feat all that much, but I love this album.  Wish I had been there.
a GREAT live album.... and this song is one of the very best on it.  There are perhaps 6 or 7 songs I could rate 9 or 10 on here.
One of my favorite Feats tunes from my favorite Feats album. Cool. 10

Thank you RP for adding this. Now, let's rock! {#Music}

Litlle Feat was one of the best live bands ever.  The album just gives a small part of how dynamite they were.  So glad I had the privilege of seeing Lowell Geroge several times.

Was? They are still touring and can still rip it up!! I saw them last year up at Sunday River in Maine. They were great!

A truly great live band!  Phenomenal groove, musicianship and songwriting.

Ho Hum.....humdee ho hum
Haven't heard this song in years. What a pleasure.{#Dance}

IMO the addition of the Tower Of Power horn section on this live album make it so much more complete and exciting than Feat's studio albums.

Amen.

Hear, hear!!!

One of my top live albums ever. Their performances on this disc sometimes outshone the studio originals. Part of that is due to the extraordinarily excellent on-site recording. Say what you want about recording from sound boards, but the balance among the musicians on these dates is outstanding.

Has my vote for best live album ever!!!!!

Mercenary Territory; one of the cuts that didn't make the CD.
Hmmmm, strange ... It's on my copy (the 2002 "Deluxe Edition" double CD) and it's listed as being on the original 1990 single CD. I believe it was two other tracks from the original double LP ("Don't Bogart That Joint" and "A Apolitical Blues") that were excluded from the first CD release due to space constraints.
they dont make this stuff no more. Beats anything out today. What an era! Thanks again Bill
OK, memory check time peoples... How many of you owned the "78 World Tour" t-shirt sold at the concerts that had this album cover on it? Did yours have the blue semi-long sleeves on it?

oufason That was just what I was thinking and the reason I jumped to the website just now. The song was so familiar and clearly had the Tower of Power backing but I knew I hadn't heard it in a long time. Mercenary Territory; one of the cuts that didn't make the CD. My second-favorite live album (and album for that matter) of all time. Sure would be nice if they remastered it completely next time. Thanks Bill, you made my afternoon. bb
what's he doing to that sax? wow.
Perhaps my favorite live album of all times. Too bad it was shortened for the CD release.
Just downright awesome, fantastic music! Full-on shiver material!
Dammit, I missed it. This is without question, my favorite cut off WFC. Chills go up my spine when that sax solo ends by going up and completely out through the stratoshere! Long live the genius of Lowell.
Not my cup of tea, thank you. But by all means, play on. If I loved everything played here, I'd be in heaven. And heaven sure as hell doesn't look (or sound) like this.
you just gotta love the feat! feats don't ever fail!
I don't think there's a song on the album that most people wouldn't give at least a 7 to. Nothing I'd give less than an 8.
First time I hear it -- gotta wait until it's over to rate it...
Interesting, as of June 19, 2007, there is only one rating and it is a 10! Holy cow!
