Saw them LIVE a few months ago at the Fabulous Fox.  They brought their usual cohorts, and picked up a couple of ATL rappers for that night.  Non-stop dance party for the 90 minutes they played.  LIVE doesn't come close to describing that experience.  WOOOO-EEEE!

The name anoushka in the title attracts rather than the voice/vocals (not speaking for the person's sitar prowess) - this could have been any passable singer humming in the background- they are a dime a dozen in india-

I like. Hmmm, I almost never comment about the tunes I am not wild about. But then again there is very little on RP that I don't like -- there's a wonderfully notable absence of Rap, Hip Hop and Heavy Metal here, which is fine by me. I do appreciate music that has a "non-Western" feel to it, influences from India and the Middle East. One area that I have alaways been tragically unhip in is that I've never really cared all that much for Reggae, even when I lived in Eugene, Oregon back in the 70's and it seemed that to be truly hip ya had to like it!

It sounds like you aren't familiar with Indian vocal music. If you are referring to the voice, it might be Swarnima Gusain. She sings "Beloved" on the Rise album. As far as I know, Anoushka Shankar doesn't vocalize on recordings.
