Let's make it, let's make it, baby
Let's make it, oh, right now, oh, yeah
Let's make it, oh, baby, me and you
I don't care what the world may say
Let's make it, let's make it
Let's make it, oh, babe, oh
Oh, yeah, not your mother or you
Not your sister or me and you
Let's make it, right now
Let's get it while gettin' it, it's good, oh
Let's make it, let's make it, baby
We ain't sayin' nothin'; we ain't sayin' a thing
Let's make it, me and you
Let's make it, let's make it, let's make it

This is some crazy stuff.

Everyone at top of their game.
this one needs an 11!  John Lee in the pocket w the boys,, TASTY!!!
William, these are not the correct lyrics
Always LOVE hearing this floor-stomping, hip-shakin' thang! A sonic boogie match made in Heaven, for sure!
CH is better with JLH. JLH soundsbetyer with/without CH.

The Top fellas would be the first to tell you "Yes", they took lots of notes.

Always in the mood for JLH jamming   A solid 10.
Uh how, how, how, how...
Love those blues. "Let's Make It (with Canned Heat)" sounds like Hooker's making a musical meal over a Sterno.

Dig in!

I have the double vinyl, this is in it, and it's gots ta come out (again)! I saw JLH at the Grant Street Dance Hall in Lafayette Louisiana. He and his brim and his shades walked out slowly and he was introduced as boogie royalty. He sat down and commenced to burn the mutha down. Danced all night in that storied hall with a long neck in one hand and a lovely Cajun lady spinning in the other. Ah... memories of passin' a good time in my younger days.

One of my biggest regrets about concerts is that JLH played in Anchorage in 2000, about a year before he died and I didn't get to go to it.  I thought hard about it, but I was just out of college and getting married and had a lot going on.  We did get to see BB King in New Hampshire in 2002, and I was thankful for that opportunity.
Wow!
Let's not, John Lee .

This was & is what The Blues is all about. JLH was and always will be one of the seminal voices about the essentials: Whiskey & Women.

Everybody in my mushrooming multitude of churches loves this song...

Used to try to blow the walls out of the barracks with this LP. Sensational!
I am so glad to have been alive in a time-frame that encompasses such great innovators of style and groove! John Lee Hooker has influenced and inspired countless greats, and one of them, Big Head Todd, is bringing some of that back around to his homies December 15th at The Fox Theater in Boulder; can't wait!
Dang.
These blues make me want to go and stand outside in the 110F. w/ 75 degree dew point and drip sweat.
1964 at the Twisted Wheel in Manchester, England - where I finally "got"  what R&B and the Blues were all about and what and why the Brit groups of the time were worshipping ( and introducing all of us young sponges) to the fantastic music of JLH, MW, HW, BBK et al.  Thanks John - always my favourite - RIP man.

Very cool story. My brush with JLH was in the late 80s in a bar in Palo Alto, CA where they used to have live music. I believe the band was called the King Bees, and he'd come to see them. He was just sitting in a booth with a few other folks, no fanfare.

My John Lee Hooker story happened years ago in Detroit.  I was sixteen years old.  I'd heard that John was playing at a very small club called the Chessmate.  I was too young to legally get in, but I begged the guy at the door.  I told him I'd walked several miles just to get to the club, which was true.  I had very little money.  He took pity on me and said I could go in for a little while but they wouldn't sell me any liquor.  That was fine with me.  I just wanted to hear and see John Lee.

They put me in a seat away from everyone else, very close to the band.  After a short wait, the band entered, with John Lee last.  He sat down, got himself comfortable and began tuning his guitar.  He looked at me and said in that gruff voice, "How you doin' kid?".  The band then proceeded to crank out the blues.  Great evening for me.
Two words...  Hell. Yeah!

Why do you think guys learn to play the guitar?  of course to get girls.  John Lee Hooker learned this early.
