Well i've been down now
Like I never got started
'cause you want your world just a certain way
And I can tell you this
i've been outsmarted
And that hurts me more than it hurts me how much from this

I find that I could stand
I never regret it
And I said things that I know right now I never meant
Well i've been down now
'cause you want your world just a certain way
Well i've been down now
'cause you want your world just a certain way

Well i've been down now
Like I never got started
'cause you want your world just a certain way
And I can tell you this
i've been outsmarted
And that hurts me more than it hurts me how much from this

Well i've been down now
Well i've been down now
Well i've been down now
Well i've been down now

Wait a second....Stop the Presses! I just noticed, if you take the dy off Dandy and the War off of Warhols, you are left with Dan hols. Now if you replace the o in hols with an i and the s with another l you get Dan Hill ...the painfully earnest singer/songwriter. Anybody else catch that?

Dan Hill was "painfully" something, though "saccharine" or "cornball" are probably better adjectives than "earnest".
This song has a killer, groovy guitar riff that repeats in a very satisfying way, and that's what makes it "quite likeable" (if you ask me).
Psyched to see these guys live Nov. 19th in Chicago!
Yes, everyone is right: The Dandys "steal" their music from other bands. And OK, nothing they ever do is "original." But you know something? I like listening to their music. Thanks, Bill.

good point, err, what?

Hey, Beck Hansen never had an original song. And people think he's a genius. Plus he doesn't do it well.

It's only plagiarism if you don't acknowledge it.
Great segue from Ween - Flutes of the Chi. Both a display of musical knowledge by Bill and a note of plagiarism by the Dandy Warhols.
a) FABULOUS segue from "Flutes of the Chi"

b) I like the Dandy Warhols but by god just about every one of their songs is 4 chords going round and round. I don't know how they maintain their sanity
YOUR TRANSITIONS!!!! <3<3<3<3<3<3 THEY DRIVE ME WIIIIILLLD!

Hey Warhols, draw me some pictures of matchstick men while you're stealing the riff...

Dammit, I just trashed Dan Hill in the "Kid Charlemagne" posts. We have got to get synched up. Once you come down from the acid trip.

Wow, I usually like the Dandies......
What the "peeeeeep" is this?  {#Stop} {#Puke} Need I say more?
I like the Dandies, but I don't get this song. It's like a long intro to a song that never actually begins.
sounds a lot like ENO to me.
Love the dandies... All their songs give me a natural buzz.

Friday, end of a long day, perfect song for my mood.

Nice segue Bill. First time hearing it, although I see it's been done before.
And Then I Had A Nightmare About Rupert Holmes.

OMG!!! Spoon >> Ween >> Dandy Warhols ... blended with such fluid transitions! LOVED IT!! {#Cheers}

I wonder if this was just serendipity or just the pretty good DJ that Bill is ...

They make me really miss being in the PNW again. Not real fond of this song, but they're the Dandies and their music keeps pulling me back to Salem/Portland, so I have nothing negative to say about them. *sigh*  I miss Oregon....

No Yes!
Maybe He'll play some Yes next??
The Dandys have been in my breast pocket for a good...13 years now.  Love 'em.

I totally agree - I saw that I had rated it 7 earlier. It's an 8 for me now. Wonder what the album is like

This song is growing on me. I didn't like it much the first go around. But I'm liking it more now.
If it weren't for the fact that this song reminds me of at least 2 others...it would still suck. {#Snooty}

{#Foot-in-mouth} Well now I feel like quite the fool for being the last person to see the obvious. And this Andy Warhol character, isn't he the old guy at the end of 60 minutes? {#Wink}

I like a lot of different music, and I don't think I normally would've liked these guys...but they're growing on me.  And I do like this one a lot.

The Dandy Warhols seem to have two distinct styles: grungey rock and sleepy trippy psychedelia, and this fits firmly into the latter. Sadly, I never went for the tripped-out stuff, maybe because I don't smoke blow these days, so this is a bit dull. The rocky grungey stuff, on the other hand, is absolutely brill.

Smokin' blow and listening to music.  Hmmm.  Does that mean you scratch to the rhythm?

Please then kind sir, bestow upon me your vastly more original thought process riddled with music from the seventies.  I would like to know, honestly, what your claim of me "lacking an original thought" spawned from.

Nice in an ambient way.  Like the "Blue Marble" cover.

Actually I think they might be related, because I read that the original title of this song was "House of Yes", which as you may or may not know is the title of a live Yes album.  I wonder....

Another great track off a great album. Love it!

Not sure about the song yet, but this was the second segue of perfection in a row. Nice work.

Oh, it's growing on me already. Sorta.
