Dancin' backwards, wound up in another place and time.
No way of knowing where I was headed to.
Baby, I was running away like always.
Sure wasn't ready for something new.

How did I wind up back where I started?
I'm so glad I found you there

Time was wasting away, like water through my hands.
Blood was dripping from my soul.
Caught up in emotion, emotion that is every man
Spinning out of control.

How did I wind up back where I started?
I'm so glad I found you there.
Yes, I'm so glad I found you there.

Seems like I've known you for a thousand years,
Seems like I've watched you grow from a child.
It's hard to remember the first time I saw your face
With the moonlight in your smile.

How did I wind up back where I started?
And I'm so glad I found you there.
I'm so glad I found you there.
Oh, I'm so glad I found you there.
And I'm so glad I found you there.

Susan is a tremendous singer but will always be the poor man's Bonnie Raitt.  Glad we have both of 'em.
What a soothing sweet song
derek trucks band twice within an hour and a half? i'll take it!
I love the sitar work here! 🤍
As a guitar player I greatly admire Derek Trucks. I love Susan Tedeschi's voice (her guitar playing is great, too). I saw them live a few years ago and was  left a little disappointed in the set list that particular night. With 12 people sharing the stage - multiple drum kits, horns, backing vocalists - each song was played and sang with the intensity of an encore. I found it became overwhelming after the first hour; the quiet magic that exists in songs such as this one was completely absent that night as wailing trumpets and wailing vocals ruled the night. Oh well. It says more about my expectations and preferences than any slight to the musicianship.

Note: the opening act was a local musician named Joey Landreth (no relationship to Sonny). He's a fantastic slide guitarist in his own right. He was on stage by himself and played a remarkable solo set. Maybe this put me in a certain mood. By contrast the Tedeschi Trucks ensemble was an auditory assault.

Not really.

My wife and I see them every time they come to town and your comment is spot on.  Such a great group of talented musicians.  And they always tour with great supporting acts and manage to mix it up with them during their sets as well.  Always a great evening of music.

I like this well enough, but honestly, it sounds like something Bonnie Raitt did many years ago. Minus the scorching slide guitar.

I love Bonnie but Susan is more soulful.

YES! I totally agree!
Her voice. The musicianship of both Susan and Derek ... the entire band. Admittedly I do not listen to much of their recorded work as much as I should, but I do try to see them perform live every time they come to town. Amazing live performers!!

Derek could have scorched that slide easily as well as Bonnie if the song had called for it.

Saw them (TTB)  two years ago in Germany, opening for Greg Allmann. That was nice!!

I wouldn't be surprised if they are working on that project, frequently.

They do already have 2 children. Chances are at least one of them would be musically inclined. Yay for us! : )

MUST check out their new one! They're in it for the music and it shows!

Saw them last week in a tiny venue, and they BROUGHT DOWN THE HOUSE He plays without a pick (I didn't know that), she sings like a born blueswoman, and the horn section was tight, funky, and full of energy.  Two drummers, too, just like the Allmans.

I had to laugh at this, because I've heard a couple of Tedeschi's songs that just made me want to rip off my own head. And this was NOT one of them - she and Derek sound wonderful together (much to my disgruntled surprise.)  So, yeah - may your wish come true.  GOOD song!{#Mrgreen}

very nice........
Bonnie is boring and this sounds like her.

Susan = Bonnie + Janis
(Janis hiding in this song)

Anyone know what instrument that is, doing the twangy sounding accompaniment?  Sounds like of like a cross between a sitar and a banjo.

Jone, that's probably a dobro.
