Pain
I guess it's a matter of sensation
But somehow
You have ways of avoiding it all

In my mind
I have shot you and stabbed you through your heart
I just didn't understand
The ricochet is the second part

Cause you can't hide
What you intend
IT GLOWS IN THE DARK
Once you've sought
The path of revenge
THERE'S NO WAY TO STOP
And the more I try to hurt you
The more that it hurts me

Strange
It seems like a character mutation

Though I have all the means
Of bringing you fuckers down
I can't make myself
To destroy upon command
Somehow forgiveness
Lets the evil make a loss

No you can't hide
What you intend
IT GLOWS IN THE DARK
Once we become
The thing we dread
THERE'S NO WAY TO STOP
And the more I try to hurt you
The more it backfires
The more it backfires
The more that it backfires

Thanks or playing this. Really miss Mark Linkous.
Any more of this and I'll sell my stereo and buy a cemetery plot with the proceeds.
Not particularly pleased with the new PSD which seems to only be silence. Still an improvement.

Sparklehorse makes me think of the episode of Bob's Burgers with the Equestranauts, which was just bizarre.
Great song, never tire of it despite it being a bit grim.....
Always love Wayne Coyne's voice .....{#Hug}
Meh.
Excellent song

Always wonder why this song gets played unedited while others have the "F" work deleted.
Used to great effect in the Person of Interest episode "Many Happy Returns."

"I'm so sorry."
 If a bit uninformed.

Absolutely no attempt at some sort of rhyme scheme. Was there a discernible meter? Lyricist is either balsy or lazy.
They've listened to a lot of John Lennon.  Not a bad facsimile, as those things go.  Sometimes you just gotta let those fuckers go.

Best song on the album.  "Little Girl" and "Insane Lullaby" are a couple of gems as well.  Sorry about Mark Linkous.

So sad. So sad.

From the Linkous Family: "It is with great sadness that we share the news that our dear friend and family member, Mark Linkous, took his own life today. We are thankful for his time with us and will hold him forever in our hearts. May his journey be peaceful, happy and free. There’s a heaven and there’s a star for you." - March 6, 2010

I am ascending to heaven. Follow me.
Very cool collaboration. I'm a long-time fan of Danger Mouse and am interested in most anything he gets involved in. I've been wanting to hear the results of this eclectic get-together for a while, but just haven't gotten around to digging it up. Glad to have RP bring it straight to my ears. :)

Thanks for keeping me current, B&R - I've heard of DM&S but haven't yet heard them..  So far they aren't anything like I imagined. Which would have been more hipster and less slow dance.

I take it there are a lot of HHGG fans among us...

42 is all that matters. As long as I don't have to hear Vogon poetry, all's good.

I did some searching and came across the NPR site.
I guess I should have just scrolled down and saved some time! :)

I'm really curious about this album.

I played this for a friend of mine the other night, and he told me he thought it sounded like a cover of a previously unknown John Lennon tune.

I have to admit he's got a point (though I never in a million years would have noticed it myself).

wow... this is great.

I'm a Wayne Coyne/Flaming Lips fan... and I dig what I've heard from Danger Mouse.

This is one heck of a collaboration.

I need to check out the rest of that project.

Well, let's see:

"Though I have all the means to bring you f*ckers down."

...NO; can't have THAT!

How about "Though I have all the means to bring you big jerks down."

No. Not enough oomph. (Try again.):

YOUR MOVE!

Write DM, SH, or David Lynch, and tell em they need to re-write the lyrics, and replace 'em with yours!

There's still time. (I hear its not released yet.)

F****n great song!!!

I find "Everytime I'm With You (feat. Jason Lytle)" is the best title of this unreleased album.
Please add it.

I wonder if Danger Mouse is related to Modest Mouse. {#Stupid} Perhaps it's his more adventurous cousin.

Danger Mouse was a children's cartoon series of the 80s, which I vaguely remember watching even though I was in my 20s by that time (men take a long time to grow up :o)). A quick butcher's at the ever-dependable (for this sort of stuff, anyway) Wikipedia finds an article on the series. The cartoon was rather more interesting than this ho-hum number. A somnolent 3 from the Nottingham jury.

Wow, this is cool! Another good, but strange band to check out is "Empire of the Sun".
For those of you who didn't know: Danger Mouse was the guy who mixed the oh-so-famous "Grey Album", with each song featuring Jay-Z's "Black Album" vocals and The Beatles' "White Album" instrumentals. Wayne Coyne is the head guy / singer from the Flaming Lips.

The more you know...
What a fun little ditty.

Thanks for the info, this is really good.
I dig the Danger Mouse magic at the end...  This is coming from the guy that got his name remixing The Beatles and Jay-Z.  I suspect he's going to be a top producer for many, many, many years... Not too many producers get their name listed with the band, but he's done that a few times now.

Good stuff...

Ah, a comment pithy enough that Bill mentions it on the air.

Get that man a 'pith' helmet.

(Kudos, AMH.  {#Notworthy}  )

Hearing my comment read "on air" is definitely the highlight of my weekend.
so where is this downloadable? i can find it to stream but not to download

Actually, the Sparklehorse thing was somebody else's idea (but I drank so much that night, I don't remember who's).

Anyway, they didn't appeal to the SC.

I meet my friends every night at a bar and we name bands and the titles of their albums and songs.

Those who disagree must appeal to the Supreme Court.

It's ALL my fault!
