I forgot something of younger days
When there were no cares
And clouds appear lit that
Made me ask how their
Lives could have been spent

Carelessly wasting our day
Inquires of what is the way
With no reply

And when you were young
There's a lightness surrounds you
The world turns
When you take back
All the things that you've earned
You found nothing at all

Carelessly wasting our day
Inquires of what is the way
With no reply

Where did it go now
All that you thought was well defined
It's all but become just
A passing thought in spite

Don't let it go now
Our lives could be much more than this
Let go and find it

e minor is generally the key of so many emotionally satisfying pieces of music. Uplifting? on a spiritual level, perhaps
A truly great, poignant outpouring of emotion through musical expression, and i cannot help but wish well for all...
This is quite beautiful, being a song writer myself E Minor is a great key to write in. I find this thoughtful, not sad, but not happy.....

I know you're being sarcastic, but that should TOTALLY BE A THING

I really like this song. It's lovely.
A pretty depressing tune....like Anna Ternheim but it fits me...... and I LOVE the lyrics!!
I think I'll go and listen to some requiem in order to cheer up.

OK, Minor Key song .. my cat died yesterday, I had an accident in my car, ran over some old fool with a walker trying to cross at the crosswalk I was occupying, Heard Joe Biden speak again, discovered that hidden paper sack with the half-empty (get it, half-EMPTY) bottle of Gentleman Jack in the back closet behind all the guns and ammo, drank it then heated the bottle in the microwave to get the last drops out (betcha didn't know that trick, huh Mister or Mizz Alkie?) found out that my investment in Facebook was in the bottom of Doctor Crapper's Porcelain Invention.  But wait, there's MORE!  Behind the false panel in the laundry room I found all of these old rusty razor blades, dropped through a slot in the opposite wall of the bathroom.  I've got one now, a nice Gillette Single Edge all rusty with "pat. Pend. 1926" stamped on it, coruscated with some drops of dried blood from pre-AIDS days maybe via the last Minor Key Soul who used it .... Ahhhh yes....  I'll get back to ya all ...

Yeah. But what's the status of the old fool with a walker you clobbered with your car? Because with an impending lawsuit, or some looming police presence, you might need more than a half full bottle of Jack. Like, you know, a lawyer. Them shits are expensive. Just sayin.
Love the meandering sound of these guys.

GIF of Joe Biden laughing
"That ol' microwave trick...good times"

Hey, Misterfixit:  Maybe Biden put you in a minor key and Joe's real sorry about that, but at least you didn't have to sit on stage with Paul "Sad Eyes" Ryan and listen to his bullshit.
I am SO thankful to RP for introducing me to Other Lives.  I purchased everything they had off i-tunes and I am NOT disappointed.  Their music is haunting, sweet, dark . they literally take my breath away.
Nice to hear they are taking time off and working on some new stuff.  Next time they come to Toronto, I will drive 4 hours to see them.  Can't wait to see them live.

Never heard of this band before, needs checking! Good song!
There must be something in the water of Stillwater, OK because there are a way too many talented artists from there!

Being a JJ Cale fan, is there a lot of heroin in Oklahoma? This is the third OK band that sounds like they are playing while laying on the ground?

Smiling...!

But truely a devastating sound! My goooooood!

Nice.

Nicely said.  If I ever get to Melbourne, there's a waltz with your name on it.

When in doubt - blame the album cover and / or song title...yeah! (Nevermind that silly musical part of the equation.)

I always knew Oklahomans must all be high to elect the politicians that they do.  That would explain it.

Bill, you knocked it out of the park with that segue! {#Clap}
I'd like to see XTC do this song....love the lyrics, the sleepy melody...appropriate for my day today....

I don't know about the H, but I think people in the south do things at their own pace and are not hurried.

Beautiful sound. Sounds reminiscent of early harmonic Bee Gees. Great time sig for this chord progression. Love it.
Yawn.
keep it coming Bill!
time fore some Avett bro's?

Nice— the singer has a Gilmour-esque quality to his voice.

No, just practising for a shoot that's looming large, we're not allowed to hunt live stuff in the UK. And yes it was quite quick, -2 degrees on top of a hill in the wind, yeouw!

Muse minus the pretension would sound like a toy piano.

At first I thought 'couldn't be', but the more I listen...yes. It's Gilbert O'Sullivan's even gloomier nephew!
Loving the cello     {#Yes}
I'd like to hear more from them. Possibly something not quite so dirge-like.

I could dance that as a waltz, beautiful, slow and romantic.
this is the seventh time i've heard this and it sounds real good now, good enuff to want to rate it "quite likeable." or even better?

I'm intrigued. Will have to check out this band in greater detail.
  I have this dreadful image of Vandal's basement walls covred with his various collection of yawn/vomit pictures.  {#Arrowd}

Carl, this song is growing on me. It's gone from ho hum to hmmmm, pretty good.

Fur wat itzz werth:  Personnel: Jesse Tabish (vocals, guitar, piano, harpsichord, harmonium, organ); Jonathon Mooney (guitar, violin, piano, harpsichord, organ, vibraphone); Colby Owens (lap steel guitar, drums); Jenny Hsu (cello, piano, background vocals); Josh Onstott (Mellotron, bass instrument, background vocals); Joey Waronker (percussion).

Good mix of instruments, perhaps there are equally or even more interesting cuts on the album ?
