Hindsight's giving me
Too much memory
There's too much never seen
But it's always there 'cause it's everywhere

Taking my own advice
Worked out for me nice
But now I come to find
The tricks we play with human brains

They don't want to think about the other side
Is that grass just greener 'cause it's fake?
'Cause that's all that we've been told since we were five years old
Is that all we'll ever know?

Hindsight brings me down
It keeps me on the ground
And though I'm never proud
I wouldn't dare if you weren't there

The thing with getting up
Feelings like giving up
Feels like not enough
You eat a crumb and waste a loaf

They don't want to talk about the other side
Where the grass was greener than they said
'Cause this doesn't bring to mind what I'd expect to find
They must be colorblind

What about Canada?
What about Canada?
This paradise
Of pines and ice

Morning comes in freight ships while you're sleeping
Bad into ideas was no surprise
We'll wait 'till the wild has rights, then never lock doors at night
And kiss all those wars goodbye

And Canada with Bill. Just noticed that there are almost 2000 listening in Canada as opposed to 6500 in United States. Considering that the population of States is 9 times greater, percentage wise, more Canadians tune in than Americans.

And that is still true 9 years later. I’ve got a little spreadsheet that I can dump the ‘listener by country’ data in that compares by population. The US just about always has the largest number of listeners (except overnight, for the relevant time zones) but never the majority. As a percentage of population, the US is often around 10th even during “peak” US listening hours. Canada is always higher than the US as a percentage of population. The highest country by percentage of population is often somewhere with few listeners but a really small population. Last time I bothered to check, 5:30AM Eastern time a couple of weeks ago, it was Slovenia with 101 listeners and a population of 2.1M. Canada was 43rd with 326 listeners and the US was 52nd with 1298.

I kinda like the fact that at any given time LESS people in the USA are listening than from the rest of the world.
Sounds like Death Cab.

Currently only one listener in Mongolia. Apparently, still some outreach work to be done there?

Sharing a hometown (Fredericton) with David Myles, Holly Cole(who might prefer Halifax, actually), and Measha Brueggergosman is a source of pride.

Unfortunately, it's not. Trudeau couldn't hold a press conference in Cambridge, Ontario, the other day because of protesters objecting to vaccines and mask mandates. Some of them were waving Trump flags.
Canada & Bill like to rendezvous.

Windows uses 44.1kHz as a default soundcard sampling, and AAC is a popular audio codec. Hope this helps.

What about Canada? On July 9, Canada reported 371 cases of Covid-19. The United States reported 50,000+ cases.

Ah, you were asking rhetorically. Sorry.

it seems that a lot of people like to slag nickelback. it escapes me why. they are unapologetic about their motley crue roots, good old canajun boys who play fire breathing pyrotechnic full on muzak rather than the fake country shuffle we hear all over the place. kind of like how people slag john mayer or toto. i understand it. i just change your dial, kenneth and you'll be fine.
More Built to Spill please.
YOU ARE AWESOME BILL!
Thanks - Love this band because of you.

a Canadian, eh.
Really do like the feel of this song, but every time I hear it I'm thinking it's Neal Young.  Wiki does say he was one of there greatest influences. I'm going to agree.
Ammmmazing song that gets better every time I hear it.
Intro/Sweet Jane —> this.

Okay, everybody. Time to turn down the music in your cubicles!
Seeing these guys tonight at Red Rocks in Colorado....opening for Father John Misty.
Not to be confused with "Blame Canada" from the (in)famous South Park episode. Was going to attach a link, but it's pretty offensive.
My people come from Canada - eh? (Kinda have to put a question mark on those)
It's a nice song. Probably a nice sentiment, but not entirely sure that I'm smart enough, or artistic enough to really fully grasp the lyrics...
what indeed about Canada
a middle power
a refuge in a time of crisis

I have to say, one of the best bands of all time. Classy fellas too.
Love these guys but maybe that's just because their from Boise, ID and so am I!

Being an Idaho guy, and a life long Pacific North Westerner, I have had the pleasure of seeing these guys live a couple dozen times. LIVE is where they completely sealed the deal for me l as a life long fan. They simply DESTROY in a beautiful way live. I love every one of their studio albums.
I'm surprised we do not hear more from some of their earlier studio work, or their live album on RP. Their live Neil Young cover Cortez the Killer is incredible.

Great to hear them period however.

I agree they might be underrated, but I don't think they do so in a sea of mediocrity. There are a lot of wonderful bands out there along with a lot of crappy ones.
This song reminds me a LOT of Neil young - similar voice, country backing.

The morning industry has only grown since then, controlled by a few Japanese exporters whose red-sun flags remind us who controls whom. Well if that wasn't bad enough, now winter nights are shorter and days longer, and summer —- a total black out !
I've heard that chancellor has consulted Arizona to find out how to borrow some time that Az. has banked away
by not falling for the old "Spring ahead, Fall back" crapola. . . . Canadians also have researched jet-lag as a means
to cushion the reversal of effects which occur, when crossing the border, into the US. Stay tuned.

I wish I could tell you brother, but I'm afraid it was one of those magical once-in-a-lifetime-moments.
You know the ones that flash before your eyes, for a short instant stopping all clocks, bringing your whole reality to a screaming halt. Soon before receding and perishing in a silent void of the past, never to be reached and felt again. Leaving you standing stark naked and somewhat afraid, with no less than a coctail of emotions stirring your whole inside. And in your hands holding all you thought you knew of the world, while before your eyes reality now has turned completely upside down.

These moments are unfortunately not shipped by japanese exporters. The up side is that they are free of charge. Down side: rare.
Great in their best moments!

I used to like these guys; I bought "You in Reverse" after hearing some of the tracks here on RP. Now, I don't like them anymore. Most of the time, I'm pretty tolerant of unusual voices, but this guy's voice bugs me now.
Hm:

Built To Spill - Hindsight ... mentions Canada
Big Sugar - All Hell For A Basement ... mentions Alberta
Son Volt - Medicine Hat ... mentions a city in Alberta

This is fun.

P.S. Thanks ioanthe, how generous!

Please! Please!  No DFA!     (Death From Above)   We promise to behave well.  Promise!  -lol-

Tagish_girl:  Just want to let you know that increasingly Canadians have guns too.   To own one, it helps to be male, between the ages of 16 and 35, extremely insecure; apparently possessing an IQ of less than 90 helps too.

Two males in the 30s were pulled over at the 4-way stop near our quiet suburban home on Christmas Eve.   Two streets up, they had backed into a parked car and upon leaving the scene of the accident, switched drivers.  (Thanks to vigilant neighbours who called the police.)  The drive had a hand gun on him.  Illegal, most likely US origin.    Do the police often intercept weapons like this?  Not in the past.

In 2009, the Greater Vancouver area suffered a epidemic of public shootings.  Probably as result of the increased use of informants by the police.

Did I just hear some old Hollies riffs in this song?

I have made the same comment about Oasis a number of times —- their best stuff isn't playlisted here.

You will not find a bigger fan of the Goldsmiths than me, but once in a while they just have a blind spot.

On balance, they deserve our gratitude for what they do, though, so let's sit back and enjoy the ride.
