Oh joys are us
The sun has come again
To hold you
Sailing out the doldrums of the week
The polyphonic prayer is here
It's all around you
It's all around you out here

And if the whole world is crashing
Down on you
Fall through space out of mind
With me

Where the emptiness we leave behind on
Warm air rising
Blows all the shadows far away
The falling of the whole empire is here
To hold you
Rolling out and haunted till it sleeps

Little memories marching on
Your little feet working the machine
Say will it spin will it soar
My little dreams working the machine

Soon like a wave that pass will fall
And closing in on you they're
Going on

Little memories your little feet working
The machine
Say will it spin will it soar
My little dreams working the machine

Soon like a wave that pass will fall
And closing in on you they're
Going on

I just learned that recently. Should have recognized that voice from Koop. Can't say I know her work with Little Dragon.

Bill, could you please dig out that set and play it three times in a row, just to make sure?

I do believe that he has left us. No negative comments since Sep of 2015.
Thank you Bill. I never would have sought out Gorillaz' music without your introduction.
Immaculate and wonderful - thank the lord that we have art schools from where issues forth talent such as Damon Albarn. Thank you Bill too
Whats up people...stop dissing Bill!!! What makes you think your personal taste for music is what Bill should be playing?? Pretty F'ing selfish. Bill is playing something for everyone....like on the F'ing Globe!!!! Give him and Rebecca a break!!! We are very, very, very fortunate to have them. Just think if RP did not exist....how crappy our lives would be....SERIOUSLY!

To Quote Ringo...."Peace and Love"!

I second planet-lizard's sentiments.

Oh Dude! 5H|^, you stole my my idea! Did you crawl in through one eye and snatch away my precious pearl?

Can you imagine what Radio Stingray would be like? A cross between Dieter's "Sprockets" and Dana Carvey's "Germans Who Say Nice Things:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M6mndRtsS88

Lots of yelling, inappropriate personal comments and the invariable "SCIENTOLOGIST!" denunciations.

I can hear those vibes somewhat, but early Fleetwood Mac would not have had a "California sound".
Oh how I wish I could rate this 11!

Is that "grok" as in Robert Heinlein's "Stranger in a Strange Land"?!? I don't think I've seen or heard that word for 40 years!

Dear Bill.

Thank you very much for playing Gorillaz.

Thank you for ignoring those who don't understand what brilliant music this is.

Thank you for starting Radio Paradise.

Yours most devotedly.

I made a huge leap in my musical taste when I bought Demon Days. I've been a fan ever since. Saw them in Austin TX during their Empire Ants tour. Powerful show.

The more I hear of Gorillaz, the more I like!   Percussion in this is nice (and I note something really neat as I edit this reply:  the banana icon does a really good "mashed potato"!  I could type and delete all night! ) {#Dancingbanana}
I was getting a little Brian Wilson vibe in the beginning...
I makes my head want to explode that I like this.

Yea the Gorillaz are pretty lame.
Eclectic musical goodness... Nice one, Bill.
OH my. Little Dragon carries this song.. More Little Dragon.

I am SO adding that phrase to my repertoire.

This does not pass the homework test.
For me, the best part is Yukimi Nagano's voice - love her.

The rest, . . . .kind of sounds just computer generated and commercial.

Oh, man this just slammed my funny bone with a sledge hammer.
This is a really good tune.  I'm not a fan of Snoopy Doggg but his Welcome To The World Of The Plastic Beach track is pretty good, too, IMO.

This is just such an amazing song! Pure atmosphere...

One of our best friends out there on the west coast just saw these guys a couple of nights ago, and said there were a couple of 'those guys from the clash' playing with them.  I was going to call BS on that, then looked it up.  Yes, Paul Simonon and Mick Jomes are both in the touring band.  I sort of wish I'd flown out to BC to see them now, for some reason.
I love everybody, but i gave this a 4 and I'm sticking to it!

the rest - this one among them - is syntie-soup!

Hi, Stingray.{#Wave}I love this song. I love Gorillaz, so far. Synthie-soup is a great term for that particular genré, but this doesn't really fit into the category, IMO.

As for bands who can issue what they want and have it received well, there are a zillion. This might be one, but if I hear a song by them that I don't like, I'll be the first to ignore it and move on to Turin Brakes or Dan Fogelberg.

Always love the Gorillaz!
I like this new album all right, but not nearly as much as I liked Gorillaz and Demon Days.

Ditto.

On the strength of the comments here we downloaded the whole album.

Good thing, too —- it has to be listened to in its entirety.  Out of the sixteen tracks there are two that we hit fast forward on.

And yeah, I hear everything from Procol Harum to hip hop to twee Britness to live theatre in here.  My recommendation is buy it.

While I'm here, as I write this we are really enjoying a track called Real Love by Delorean.  Seems to go well with a bottle of Spanish red and the mauve sky over Lake Scugog.

God I love summer.  Too bad it's only five minutes long here in The Great White.

I should not agree, but do.  What is happening to me?!  I hate all things even remotely disco, but find myself kind of liking this.  I don't even like the Gorillaz, really, but this works for me.
I like this so much, I bought Little Dragon's cd. For the most part, it sounds just like this song minus Damon Albarn. So, yeah.
i've been liking this when it comes on—-i like forward to the disco section and like the woman's voice.

They definitely seem experimental....I like
Feels like a cross between The Sundays and Dead Can Dance. I do like it tho...
Definitely sounds like they found a bunch of old 80's synthesizers and drum machines and decided to make an album. Not complaining though, I'm really liking this one and Melancholy Hill...that 80's disco sound really takes me back.

Yeah, they both look like photographed models.

I love Jamie Hewlett's work. His stuff for this album is looking more 3D.

Does all their stuff suck this much?
I effing love Gorillaz. Been looking forward to new stuff for a while now. So far, so good!

Sweet!  I called this as a future RP song over on the Stylo thread last week.  Great vibe on this one.
Hey, I tried to add it to my Rhapsody Library (too new).

Thanks RP for finding great new music!
Wait. I LIKE Gorillaz? What's going on?
Cool.  Nice to hear some new stuff.
