I don't want the street lights
Laughing at the grave
He swears he's gonna give it up
It's never gonna be enough

I just wanna be there
When you're all alone
Thinking about a better day
When you had it in your bones

This could be the end
This could be the end
This could be the end
This could be the end

I see you in the evening
Sitting on your throne
You're playing with a fireball
And post it up against wall

I just wanna hold you
Take you by your hand
And tell you that you're good enough
And tell you that it's gonna be tough

This could be the end
This could be the end
This could be the end
This could be the end

Cos I ain't got a home

Running from the street lights
Shining on the grave
Once you've had the good stuff
Never gonna fill you up

I wanna be the one who
Gives them all a whirl
And gives them all the finger at it
Just a little taste of it

This could be the end
This could be the end
This could be the end
This could be the end

Cos I ain't got a home
I'll forever roam
No I ain't got a home
I'll forever roam

Said I ain't got a home
I'll forever roam
No I ain't got a home
I'll forever roam

I ain't got a home

Fekkin dirge thats constantly played here.

GOOD TUNE!  Great bass guitar sound. IDK about his voice.  Thanx RP!

This is the the typical "I don´t know the PSD Button and write a thumb comment". This song is f*cking good i gave it an 8.

So when you wrote the thumb comment, was it a thumbs up or thumbs down?

I've gone 7 to 8 to 7 to 8 on this one, and both times I went +1 to 8 was because of his voice AND the beat/sound is pretty nice, and I want it to play in 'My Favorites'

Long Live RP and changing tastes!

It's OK to like KoL and Godspeed You! Black Emperor
Mediocre, plodding, and forgettable music, terrible band.

Yeah kind of the same with Coldplay, Parachutes and A Rush of Blood to the Head was really good. Very extreme downturn since then.
Probably?
These guys are like a free-swinging DH...happy to hit .300, crappy on base percentage, mad strike outs...but when they connect...it's out of the park.  This one is a called third strike for sure, not even a swing...

***baseball analogies for those not in the know about Western sports***

One melody, two songs. Good way to write less...

3 years since last play?  still too soon

From Massive Attack to this.......niiiiiiiiice!{#Clap}
i like these guys well enough. i wish Milk were in the rotation. this song isn't bad, but it's not my favorite.

Never been a fan either....

agreed. a wonderful song.

not really surprising some of them having a substance-abuse-career going.

there was always something EXCESS-ive about those guys. it just took a look at their early videos...imho.

hope the singer get his act together (though I guess, that's not very likely...guess he'll be taking the amy-route)

must be pretty horrible, watching one's sibling f****g up so bad... :o/ and the arts going down the drain...

i'm not really a fan of the kings of leon, but I like some of their tunes...a lot...
Can it be the end?  My respect for KOL died 2 albums, 1 canceled tour, 1 rehab stint, and 1 really painful documentary ago.

please let it be the end.....
I'm with HippieChick - Don't like these guys at all...
This is one group I do not care for at all
thank you for the lucid comment Sasha2001. I am very musically open-minded but Kings of Leon really drag me down.

Wait a minute! CMax has an honest question. If YOU know so much more about music chadlymn perhaps you could educate those of us, like me, who have studied music since the 1st grade and attend 2-4 shows a month but also don't get why this band is as popular as they are. It's not as if they're holding down a groove I want to dance to, or writing particularly interesting lyrics, or singing in more then one limited octave, or writing music that sounds anything more then derivative of half a dozen other more interesting or popular bands.

I know they've been around for more then a decade and they've certainly paid their dues to the point where they deserve their moment in the sun. But they certainly seem ordinary next to some of the great new bands we hear on RP regularly.

Awesome set... DMB to Beck to Kings of Leon. Three killer songs in a row {#Hearteyes}

Much better.....like this much more than Golden Earring...but I realize that variety is the spice of life.
God how I wish it was the end of Kings of Leon.

Only Rhianna could challenge KoL for the "Most Constipated Voice" prize.
Nice rotation !
Still love this song. I grew tired of some of their last album because FM played it to death.

I wish I could explain it in the way that I explain my love for other musicians or bands but the formula seems to fail when it comes to K.O.L.

Sometimes the whole is greater than the parts.  I think that is the case with KOL.
The piano at the end reminds me of a song by My Morning Jacket (Touch me I'm going to scream II)...

Well of course you do. Should I be surprised? You and he seem of like minds about Kings of Leon. I don't have a problem if you don't like the music, but if you enjoy characterizations such as:

.Jon Anderson sounds like a fairy, and Anthony Followill sounds like an inbred hick. (Hannio)

then your opinion means as little to me as his.

For just the 1st few seconds I thought it was Dark Matter by P.T.....must be the coffee..and a similiar bass line or something {#Sealed}

It was the kind of people who program RP that turned me on to Kings of Leon when their first album came out. I don't think they have been as good or as exciting since, but I'm not willing to abandon them yet, just because it's trendy now to hate them.

Very appropriate that this CD should start with a song called "The End."
Bob has a great voice? Not to compare with great song writting but vocals. I like the band RAW sounding

That doesn't necessarily make him a bad singer; you've roughly characterized a substantial portion of lead vocalists and/or musicians from throughout the history of rock'n'roll.

Such a great description ... but you forgot the other thing he spends money on:  cigarettes!  I was gonna put a smiley emoticon at the end of my comment, but it's too sadly true to be funny.

Actually listen a bit before you make such comments...

No, Cowgirl is right.  Several of their songs sound very similiar.  This is a couple clicks away from Sex on Fire.  Good stuff though, I am beginning to listen to them more and more.  Being very defensive me thinks.

This is the end, my only friend .....    Oh wait, wrong song.
Oh, how I hope for The End...<sigh>

Sadly, I can't get into this guy's voice. He always sounds like he's in pain, as if he's trying to squeeze out an enormous log. A shame, really, as the band's good and the lyrics are interesting.

That song has just become a guilty pleasure to sing along with.

i have been listening to Kings of Leon since the 'beginning' , and i must say that this is probably their best offering to date ( to my sensibilities anyway....) and i mean the entire album, not just this single.

Really like this on first hearing. Yes it's like the last album - good - because if I want to hear something new I can just listen to a different band!
They need to come up with something new.  Most of their music sounds the same.....
That was nice. Real nice. A soft edge I didn't expect from them. 7.
