I wish this was the original. The vocal is superior in that version. A lot of memories associated with it.
Not to bash this particular singer, she does a lovely job. The original captured a fleeting feeling somehow that this version does not, and will always hold a special place in my heart.

Nicely played but a little sterile. The original with vox by Geike is superior and apparently has lyrical and musical earworms for me.

It is derived, literally, from the appearance of someone who may be lost in (outer) space, drifting, and without a clue as to how to come home, and not very interested in doing so.
"Space out" "space case" "space chick" and undoubtedly others are applications of it.
"Spacing from Paris to NY" may be drifting, in the mind, from one city to the other; "Spacing in Vienna" may mean letting one's thoughts drift whilst in Vienna.

He did a lot of voice over and then released "I Still Got A Pony", and I think went back to the voice work and some comedy tours.

What IS that tune the orchestra is playing? When did it first appear? Sounds oooooold.
This is with the new singer. Her voice is very similar to the original singer. Check out their website. It is very luscious. Solid 8 for now.

Oh man, I'm outta the loop! I love Hooverphonic — had no idea they have a new singer, until now. She seems talented BUT maybe not re-making their previous recordings..... Only makes me long for the original, with it's lovely dreamy quality. This girl is too crisp-sounding (precise enunciation) for me, at least for this track. I am curious to hear new material with her.

While my favorite Hooverphonic had Geike singing, I'm finally getting used to this new singer. Not a bad arrangement.
