Why ignorance? To trissi it all sounds the same.  If he was a white male musician you wouldn't have reacted like that
Not my favorite of Tuku's songs (that would be "Tapera" which I don't think is in RP's rotation) but a top track nonetheless. One of those rare artists with nary a misstep in his catalog. A god in his native Zim.

GREAT TUNE!  RP introduced me to him, now, I have 9 of his tunes on  "My Favorites" list.  Thanx RP!

I know that this is from Zimbabwe. Different rythmic patterns can be found in many instances of African music.
It is an interesting aspect of original West African Mandinka (Kora music, from Mali, at the core of the ancient empire of Timbuktu) that explains the subtelties of the very complex interplay of sounds. But it is also present in traditional Brazilian Samba. Bossa Nova is an attempt to readjust patterns to Western music. Quite fascinating.

Indeed, Oliver is from Zimbabwe. And gorgeous music it is too.

Don't let the door hit you on the way out!  If you never posted a comment like this again on RP, I doubt you and your 1.14 friends would be missed.

I'm not sure what you mean by this. Do you honestly think that only people in Africa would listen to or enjoy this music? Can you hear clearly with your head shoved so far up your own ass?

Oh yeah, Carribean, surely. {#Fire}

But this particular track is really so-so, that's true. 4.

{#Lol}  Did you learn to "wright" so well in Alcatraz when you were serving time there?  Have you ever seen the movie Man on the Moon, about Andy Kaufman?  It's very funny and reminds me of you.  {#Fire}

In reality I think Simon's period is shades of Mtukudzi.
