Across a starless sky
It cuts like tiny knives
Rain beating down
Rain beating down

Blunt uneasy glare's
They've nothing on you or me yet
Night's have alone
Night's here are cursed

There's wild in your eyes oh Thea
There's a light there's a feeling
It's cruel and its dark in this town
Are they mad were we dreaming

Tender and town
Won't leave you now

Wanted you so bad
I feel like I'm caught with no air
Wanted you gone
Wanted you there

There's wild in your eyes oh Thea
There's a light there's a feeling
It's cruel and its dark in this town
Are they mad were we dreaming

Tender torn sundown on Isthmus
It's all for you oh hungry moon
It's a long long night of waiting
All for you oh hungry moon

Tender torn sundown on Isthmus
All for you oh hungry moon
It's a long long night of waiting
I want you there I want you gone

Ok, we cannot deny. There's a touch of Ethem Merman there.
An album that in many an occasion reaches the heights of Felt Mountain. What an amazing artist Goldrapp is

I do not like to generalize but... I will anyway...  in my opinion the most innovative, original and experimental vocalists (solo artists or as the vocalist in a band) played on RP are female such as Goldfrapp, Poe, Agnes Obel, Bjork and many, many others.

There are many great male vocalists but they tend to let their songs or guitar do the originality - not their vocal dexterity.

The only male exception I can think of is James Mercer of the Shins.

i am more moved, excited, inspired, and motivated by women vocalists period, for the reasons you mentioned. it's just a generally more emotional and inflective experience for me these days. i am male and pushing 60

Fantastic!

Nope, its not Kate Bush, but it wants to be.  Tedious.
He always seemed so bad he never seemed too bright, he was glowing like the meddle on election night.

Great song and album.

How much Goldfrapp does this station need? It's WAY above the national Goldfrapp average.

I don't like to comment on music I don't like, but this song is one of a few I thought best fit the "Barfo" part of the one rating. I seem to be feeling a bit sick after listening to the annoying wobbling background noise.
How much Goldfrapp does this station need? It's WAY above the national Goldfrapp average.
... waiting for the final chord sequence to merge into Shine On You Crazy Diamond... didn't happen... dammit.
Ug.

I find it disturbing that you are in a state of a state of a sense of great elation and well being and yet not beyond disturbance?  {#Ass}

Perhaps a "euphoric state of disturbance" would be less objectionable...

You're still here?  You must really enjoy listening to music that you don't enjoy listening to.
Her show at Glastonbury was pretty good. It almost made me think I could put up with the crowds and mud and "toilets" and "food" and crowds...
{#Hand}
The aggressive breathiness really kills it for me. Hard to listen to.

Yes, it does have a cool, down-tempo restraint to it, but I guess "minimalist serenity" would be better than embellished serenity.
Miniimalist serenity
{#Heartkiss} so very good.  "O U T S T A N D I N G" for me
I listened to this whole album on a plane. I liked it.
OK, is she wearing -- like -- a wool skirt suit, pearls, and pumps?  Is this just another costume?
Wow. This is nice.

Quite Agree.
This is sooooooo much better than everything off of 'Head First'. I think Goldfrapp may be back! Looking forward to getting my hands on this album! {#Music}
I like the song and the production.

Hypnotic. Fairly irresistible. Love the "galloping" end. Wonder if she'd ever work with Imogen?
Well stapp me vitals, 7 also.
