Pull up the blinds
Open the door wide
Feel the cold arrive
In my bones
Put on my face
The way I dressed today
Feel like you tonight
On my day

Falling little more
You bumped and crashed in dirty snow
Up to our sin, I might as well
Melt into Sunday
Remember the time
We stood there by the lake
Watching boats and planes
Pretty white clouds

The sun will sweat
In fact the song begins
Trees are your skin
On my tongue
Falling little more
You bumped and crashed in dirty snow
Up to our sin, I might as well
Melt into Sunday

Pull up the blinds
Open the door wide
Feel the cold arrive
In my bones
You, me and more
We bumped and crashed in dirty snow
Up to our sin, we might as well
Melt into Sunday

La la la la la
La la la la la la la la la
We know you're, you're not how it seems
Don't have a point

You're not there for the stay
When I will wish you could
Wish that you were there
You could
You're dying in here
You could be here soon
You stumble on a river

check out her vocal on the second half of "Little Bird" from  Seventh Tree. It's in the playlist here.

A shame because many singers out there can belt (bel canto or can belto!), emote and produce a dynamic sound without assistance.  The producer's job should be to enhance, not  create.

Breathy style ?
It is the difference between receiving a right hook and a gentle caress

haha, sitting here thinking 'this could be easily reworked into a Bond theme'! not a mad fan of her but that had me tapping my fingers variously

She's not a big enough name in the States. Whoever is the flavor of the moment gets the gig (Adele, Billie Eilish. Not to knock them just pointing it out). There are similar sentiments for Hooverphonic getting the job in the comments for "Love me to Death".

Such beautifull song. So easy and peaceful voice. Didn't hear it before. Really. Great combination of voice, electronic music and ...such thing

I agree as I have gotten older most of what I hear on commercial radio is crap, I either listen to the current from Minnesota KEXP from Seattle triple j from Australia wfmu from jersey city or this great station
I don't get it.

Oooh! I'd sit through those credits.  Probably won't happen because she's barely known on this (west) side of the pond.  Shame.

Agreed, this is more like some of the music that came over my radio in the 60s.  So lovely and evocative.
'Quite likeable' sums it up perfectly

True...only it has less shrill elements and more atmosphere! I'm a KB fan, but this evokes a bit more straightforward melody and dynamic.
Seems like they are playing her new stuff on the radio...unfortunately her music has ventured into a direction that no longer suits me.   pontfarrer wrote:

It's just a fascination of mine. A lot of artists will write the melody of a song with no words at all, just all "oh blah di oh blah dah" and put real words in later. I like to imagine when you hear a "la chorus" as I call them that the artist just couldn't come up with any more lyrics and said "fuck it, it's fine as is, tra la la".

Yes, I see now what you meant.  That probably has happened more often in popular music than one would think, though I don't think it's true for this song.
First time hearing this . . . gorgeous stuff!
Still can't understand why Goldfrapp haven't been asked to write a Bond tune.
I like it but I keep thinking of "Rosemary's Baby" when I hear it.
"quintessentially"… I had to look up this word {#Clap}

Such a nice melody for this morning. It is just this type of song that helped me start and enjoy my work day.

I love the mysterious mood this song evokes,,,It is beautiful

Hauntingly beautiful.
I like it OK for first listen. Like other, older Goldfrapp better. May bump it up on next hearing.

I can hear that a bit - in the "la-la-la" parts.  The vocals on "Annabel" from this album remind me of Krzysztof Komeda's soundtrack as well in some parts.  It's a cool sound - she does a good job with her voice.  I think it was actually Mia Farrow doing the vocals on the "Rosemary's Baby" soundtrack; I still have that album...somewhere.

Nope
Reminds me a little bit of rosemary's baby lullaby.

Let me whisper in your ear while I check whether your briefs are Under Armor.
I sure wish Goldfrapp would create another new album and do a tour. I'd like to see a concert.
New word in the lexicon: STRANGST

that feeling you get when those in the mixing studio overused the dramatic synthesized sounds ...

Nice. Very nice. and fades into Nights in White Satin. Merry Christmas y'all.
She's a master of setting atmosphere! Her voice is lovely, the music superb. Her breathy style and timing can bring on such a swoon...
Nice {#Smile}
I like the song overall but the breathy whisper started to bug me.{#Think}
Really good dreamy song

Man, these people who complain about "whispery singer types" are so pervasive that one cannot tell them apart.  Like it or not, the "whispery" style of singing has been around for a very long time.  Alison Goldfrapp has a pretty broad vocal range; I assume she's using this singing style in this song because it suits the lyrical content and overall tone of the song.
A hummingbird tasting the nectar of a flower in bloom
My friend saying goodbye at the train station
My friends saying hello after a long while
My two angels carrying me while saying
" do not look back! " " never look back "
The happiness of the guy who picked up my sad clothes
All the brothers left behind
All the brothers ahead needing help

What's even worse are all those average volume-level singer types. I can barely tell them apart. {#Rolleyes}

Very  nice.  New Goldfrapp. Cool.
That was quick! =) The album has hardly cooled from the presses.
Also, sounds very much like Goldfrapp to me. ;)
Would have never guessed this was Goldfrapp.
