I think this song makes a pretty good case for European artists not being familiar with 1970s US soap operas, as this is THE sound. A US artist probably couldn't compose this without thinking of those shows.
Pleasant but VERY basic. Sounds like something a GCSE Music pianist could compose.

Thank you for your article, I know nothing about complementary music. https://sonnerietelephone.fr/

Ya know I like this a lot and all...but damn, it seems to remind me of the soap operas my mom would watch on TV in the afternoon...c'mon, you hear it right?

My apologies, but this is an instant PSD for me.
Sounds like the theme song to many movies I've seen

Nice, but missing one element.....The special voice of Ms. Obel.
"And now for another episode of the Young & Restless, right after this word from our sponsors."
Phrygian mode?

Sure, Satie. I would not be able to explain it that profoundly, but I guess you've nailed it :-)

I really thought this was Ryuichi Sakamoto for a minute.
I couldn't help thinking of the theme to Westworld.
Always delightful!

I get those, too. It takes a page refresh to get the stream going again. Sometimes it picks up where it left off, sometimes I get something else...Joni would be OK.

Downton Abbey?
Loved how they featured her music in the Dark series on netflix. I've enjoyed what I've heard here on RP

Darn, as a small icon I thought that cover art was (already) that now ubiquitous Black Hole representation...
Too soon.......

Haunting in a good way

While the modal character resonates, her music is not as subtle - This is the age of compromise.

Every time I hear this song I think of the day RP was broken.. not a good thing. Leaving it at 8 because its not the song's fault but this could really use a break from the rotation.

What's going on RP? We been listening to Chord Left for several hours now. It's a nice song, but seriously....can we move on to something else now? (Yes, I know...agreed...appears they are stuck in a loop for some reason.)

Beautiful and restful
Lovely song
Definitely fits the seasonal mood; chilly rain, gray skies, snow falling at higher elevations... And indeed, reminds me a lot of Erik Satie!
Brilliant!
“Mais ce n’est pas la musique”
kinda sounds like the Young & the Restless music....which is also meant as a compliment.
Unpretentious. Meant as a compliment.
Lovely
This kind of reminds me of the video game Chrono Trigger. I'm not sure exactly what part; I was not as deeply obsessed with that game as many people were but I really enjoyed the music and it always brings back memories, or at least some kind of abstract nostalgic feelings.
Beautiful
Ah, the sparse, spare, Scandinavian minimalism is immediately apparent, even without her singing on this number. It's strange how such minimalist music gets me just there. 9 from the Scandophile Nottingham jury.
She is just as stunning and captivating in concert - just her on piano, a cello and violin. Astounding clarity to her voice and piano. Great ensemble.
A record you all must have.

Correction noted. I am pretty sloppy with typos but I put extra effort into names. If I mis-spell a name then it is probably deliberate. I did look up the spelling of his name before I posted it but I still got it wrong. I post most comments from the iphone now and I try to get them out by the first half of the song so i can go back and do a few edits before the song is over.
rdo, I only mentioned it because it just so happens that a family member has the same name as said actor, but with the extra "e" in the last name.

Really really like this woman's music thanks Bill
Obviously deeply Satiesque... but a minor chord misses a the very end. :)

Wow. I really like everything I've heard from this effort. My oldest son has recently taken up piano partially inspired by this this and the Lucovido Einaudi and similar minimalists I've played for him...

Yep, just another hack like Satie or Debussy.
We all know music is crap unless it's very complicated.
