Run-
Seek thy fear
All come down
Disappear

Don't be deceived
Be not blind
All fall down-
Under the weight of the world

I'll see you as-
You come a little bit closer
A silhouette-
Of what you don't wanna know

Breathe-
My desire
Make no sound
And we'll escape in each other

Throw a spider
On the corner of the dance floor
And a body on the sister with her head down
If it's quiet on the corner
Give em three part harmony
Ole!

But don't you cum when the come for me
Cuz they'll sit you down
And wanna know what you know

Then you'll swing on a string
If it breaks then you might feel better
Let the night decide
If you remain in this world

Run-
Taste your fear
They rely
On volunteers

Don't you cum when they come for me
Get around it, love
Don't let em know what you know

Hypnotize-
Synthesize-
Love is a lie
Like a hole in the sky
Then you die

Love this song and I haven't heard it in a while.
This is nice. Starts off great, but tapers off a bit for me. Still really good.
every time itโ€™s played in RP I like them more and raise their rating. Keep on rocking!!!!!
amazing band!
Following Let's Tessallate, brilliant!

yay! please go check out Gentlemen, Black Love and Up In It.
been a huge fan from their first days. i've seen them live about 10 times and they never disappoint. Greg Dulli is as you'd expect him to be in person (not a complaint) a rock star.
Saw these guys live a month ago in Portland. They absolutely rocked -- wife was jumping up and down and rocking out the whole show. My toes are sore from getting stomped on but the night was a blast.
Note to self: listen to some more Afghan Whigs. This is pretty damn awesome.

Love the drumming.
My RP rating rule- if I reach over to turn up the volume, I also upvote by 1. Enjoy your 9 from me Afghan Whigs!
Full Speed Ahead! 10
Good Tune! I never heard of them before. Thanks RP!
Oh Yes.  Just went form an 8 to a 9.  Happy Friday
"Mmm, I wish I could sing like that 'Cause not everything's singing, you know. The only important thing these days is rhythm and melody. Rhythm And melody" - Peter Sellers
I think I hate the lyrics, but I won't assume that I understand them. But, damn, this rocks.
Love this!

Same, I also like the way the snare is mixed so hot.
I've always been a fan of Greg Dulli. This rocks! Shades of Afghan Whig's Gentleman album. Straight 9 for me.
Interesting band. Very underrated.
Outstanding: 9

Does anyone know how this album is?  This is a f*cking jam.
Gracious, I'd let Greg Dulli have my babies

Yeah, I just had to do that too.
Cโ€™mon man! I donโ€™t know much but I know this sounds like a lot of energy is being expanded.

If you changed your moniker to "killjoy" your comment would make a lot more sense.

Album cover is dark, but my karma will fry that dude in his own juice
7-8, really good song.
hell yeah!
Don't know if any member of Archive, but there is a strong good wave of, similar ! And that's push it !!!
these guys always seem to play on your station just when I need them. Thank you all.
8->9
Cuz this rocks
The song gets much better once the singer's throat lozenge kicks in... aw, but then it goes all raspy again!

Maybe try a saltwater gargle?
Excellent. I remember them from the mid-90s, remarkable that 20 years later they can still rock like this.

I could totally picture this used in a Jason Bourne (or the like) movie
Oh my.  This song makes me all squishy!
Bloody awesome! Greg Dulli is a genius.

Nice rocky instrumentals, but I'd prefer the singer to lay off the strained falsetto. He sounds like he's got a hernia.

Well, Greg Dulli's sounded like that since the late 80s, so I doubt he's going to change it up now ...

YUM YUM,,,,YUM That helped me pick up the pace......

{#Devil_pimp}dig it very zesty
Excellent song... The amazing drumming, in my opinion, sets this apart from others. The percussion downright SIZZLES on this...NICE!

Why does it have to be "U2" - (??) they get a cheap plug here (??) ...no...I like this band....I gave it a 9 - it's good....they are good - U2 is so 90s

First of all, I like this band as well, certainly this song. And I've definitely had my fill of U2's more recent efforts, although I still love almost all of their stuff through Achtung Baby and a few more through Pop.

The point of my statement is that, depending on where you are on the curve of fandom toward a particular group, you might hear a song and think:

That sounds just like their previous work - gimme some of that
That sounds just like their previous work - try something new
I'm not sure if I like this song, but I like this band, so I'll give it a shot
I'm not sure if I like this song and I don't know this band, so ... nah
That sounds very similar to a band that I like, so I'll give it a shot
That sounds very similar to a band that I like - do something original, copycat
That sounds very similar to a band that I don't like because I don't like the sound, so ... nah
That sounds very similar to a band that I don't like because I am tired of the band, so I'll give it a shot

Obviously, if the song sounds original or from many disparate sources, then you can more easily judge it on its own merits. In this case, I think it sounds quite a bit like modern U2, but it doesn't have the baggage of Bono et al, so I'm happy to give it a shot.
Third listen, and wow, I'm definitely thinking that they are operating at some major Rocking capacity here... I love the rich sonic texture!

Interesting thought experiment: how would you rate this if the artist was listed as U2 (I think it is rather evocative)? Would you rate based purely on the song or would it be heavily tainted by your (potential) bias toward the band and how this differs from their earlier sound?

Not the best track on their new album, but still quite good, and with some serious throwback vibes to their early years. Any Whigs is good to hear in my book, and I'm excited that their reformation has resulted in a 2nd new album already. For any fans, the remastered and expanded editions of Gentlemen and Black Love (released over the last couple years) are both essential.

i say hallelujah!!
The trend for falsetto is not winning me over.  This is no exception.  Which is a shame, cos I like the Whigs.
9 plays in the last month?    I am listening.

Quality rock imo  (volume helps : )

This is a strange track, and yet I'm finding I like it.  It's got a sorta Interpol sound to it, which is probably what I like, although I'm guessing it goes the other way around with Interpol being influenced by the early years of the Whigs.

*edit* This might be the 3rd time I've heard it, and now I'm stuck on the fact that the opening bit sounds like "Calling Elvis" by Dire Straits. Still not completely sold on the sound of the band, although the guitar closing it out kicks ass and I'm bumping up + 1 to a 7.

Long Live RP!!
