I die way before Methuselah
So I'll fight sleep with Ammonia
And every morning with eyes all red
I'll miss them for the tears they shed

But I'm actually good
Can't help it if we're tilted
I am actually good
Can't help it if we
I am actually good
Can't help it if we're tilted
I am actually good
Can't help it if we're tilted

I miss prosthesis and mended souls
Trample over beauty while singing their thoughts
I match them with my euphoria
When they said, "Je suis plus folle que toi."

But I'm actually good
Can't help it if we're tilted
I am actually good
Can't help it if we
I am actually good
Can't help it if we're tilted
I am actually good
Can't help it if we're tilted

I'm doing my face
With magic marker
I'm in my right place
Don't be a downer
I'm doing my face
With magic marker
I'm in my right place
Don't be a downer

I am actually good
Can't help it if we're tilted
I am actually good
Can't help it if we
I am actually good
Can't help it if we're tilted

I am actually good
Can't help it if we're tilted
I am actually good
Can't help it if we
I am actually good
Can't help it if we're tilted

I am actually good
Can't help it if we're tilted

Better Things with the goddess Pamela Adlon introduced me to this cut. Look up the episode. It’s worth your time.
Really, really like this.  How many of us feel 'titled' on a regular basis...lol.
If I need to pump the volume, it's at least catchy.
ben chat alors
Xstine kess tu fous là ?

Actually no, they are either a he or a she from birth.  Chromosomes define that and that cannot ever be changed.  They can PRETEND to be whatever they want, and that's just fine with me.

I like to agree with you, but the gender-chromosome issue is a bit more complicated, I'm afraid ... Anyway, the music is a solid 7 to me.

Reading all the comments not focused on the music.

Great song. No one cares about gender/sexuality stuff --it's private and personal.  No need to share.  Too much sharing.
I'm not generally a big fan of electronica/pop, but it's impossible to not enjoy this bop.

Original comment from when he had used "she"; corrected now.

It is SO funny that I get the "They are whatever they want to be" response and that statement got three thumbs up. ALL I was doing is informing many listeners that commented that the Wikipedia bio said "he" was born in France, and "he started learning piano, "his" debut album was....READ 80% of the comments. They all refer to Christine as a "she". Christine and the Queens is simply the name of the band. People assumed. I saw another post state that "Christine" was a he. And that statement got 2 thumbs up.  People need to chill.
Oh, I heard the firsts sounds and recognized right away, but as david927 said, i'd rather hear the french one !
But mostly I'm just amazed of how you find the rare nice french artists from where you are !! Thanks forever RP !
For the record, Chris uses he/him pronouns. Read the Wikipedia page!
Sometimes I hear a little young Michael Jackson in his voice. I love this version. Need to check out the French tiara version!
I've heard this so many times and I still LOVE it.
They make music I enjoy!! They can be what they want - they don't threaten me ;D

They have had a very complicated gender identification journey. Born Heloise Letissier ('she') but identified as 'she, they' at the time this track came out (2014) and now identifies as 'he' as of 2022.
Here's what wiki says about the gender stuff (y'all decide - I care about the music):

Letissier is pansexual.[84] In an October 2019 interview with the magazine Attitude, he explained that he is genderqueer.[85] Having tweeted in June 2021 that he uses all pronouns,[86] he later told The New York Times in March 2022: "My journey with gender has always been tumultuous. It's raging right now, as I'm just exploring what is beyond this. A way to express it could be switching between they and she."[87] In August of the same year, he stated in a TikTok video in French that his gender journey was "a long process" and explained that he had gendered himself in the masculine for about a year, which he had shared with family and close friends.[88][89] He subsequently updated his pronouns to he/him across social media platforms.[89] He has stated that he is "in resistance to the approach of trans identity that there has to be hormones and operations", which he considers as a form of binarism.[11]

Interesting picture on the Wiki tab. Looks like she is giving a Ted Talk™, not singing.

Also, that odd third arm sprouting from her right hip....

She is a he

There is the natural phenomena of biologic variability caused by genetic and non-genetic factors, which all species are capable of expressing..
la version originale en Français est meilleure.
What catches my attention is the third arm in the wiki photo.
You need to watch his performance of this song on Youtube at Glastonbury in England. Neat dance moves.  I love all his stuff.  Girlfriend, Goya Soda, Here and I disappear in your arms are great...

sublime
An 8 for the English version, a 9 for the French and a bonus point for the brilliant video

He. Christine & the Queens is the name of the band - lead is a he

Thanks so much for mentioning. Just awesome!
(Also the Live version at Brits 2017!)
Vive la France!  Great track.
Catch the video to this. She is also a dancer. 💕
An initial quirky, bouncy 7 for me. First time hearing.

My first exposure to her music was on Late Show with Stephen Colbert and a few weeks later on the Late Late Show with James Corden (both aired in 2020, iirc).  Both times she sang "People I've been Sad" and both times she stopped me dead in my tracks - she's AMAZING!

He/him/his

What I've always wanted to know is; when she sings it in French, does she do the talky bit in English?
Love the litle break with sexy french rap in the middle.
Make's me feel like Jamie Lee Curtis' character when John Cleese was speaking foreign to her:

Um, MUNA? Winterbreak? No?

First time hearing this one, going with an initial rating of 7, which is a +1 from my default initial 'new to my ears' rating system.

I like the beat the best, and the French lyrics are cool too.

Long Live RP!!

As soon as I heard the opening riff I was reminded of the very same performance, and am amazed to find that it was back in 2016 - 8 years ago!

I've long known that music can transport one's emotions back to a particular point in time, but this example has just blown me away.

Great to hear Christine and the Queens here on RP.  Let's get some more songs in the mix.  Her Chris album contains some great songs.  Suggest:  5 Dollars, Girlfriend, Doesn't Matter, and Comme Si.

Catchy groove...a welcome addition.  Eight outta the gate...
Christine opened for Florence and the Machine at Red Rocks, May 20, 2019, during a freakin' blizzard for the entire show. Only saw the last couple songs of her performance, but she captivated the crowd and received a very enthusiastic response. I really enjoyed her and wish we had gotten there sooner to see the whole set.
Really like this singer !
Great to see this here. I'm a real fan of Chris/Christine and the Queens. Massive talent and exellent quality of music production.
I had the pleasure of catching Christine and the Queens during an episode of Later...with Jools Holland and then was given a chance to go to a show shortly thereafter.  Delightful and fun to groove to.  Thank you for adding this into the rotation!
Really a fan - there's some other good tracks in their catalog!~
