Long hair and longer stride
Skateboard affair with the primal tribe
And your cut off painter pants
Charging down the craggy mountains
With our thrift store friends

Who you find so... so in love with the falling earth
Oh, you wake in the middle of the falling night with the summer playing coy

In the attics of the city night
We talked corso and the MC5
And you could dance like
We were all alright

Only the wild ones give you something and never want it back
Oh, the riot and the rush of the warm night air
Only the wild ones are the ones you can never catch
Stars are up now no place to go... but everywhere

One I met in the green mountain state
I dropped out, and he moved away
Heard he got some land down south
Changed his name to a name the birds could pronounce

And only the wild ones give you something and never want it back
Oh, the riot and the rush of the warm night air
Only the wild ones are the ones you can never catch
Stars are up now no place to go but everywhere

No place to go but everywhere

In the city the mayor said
Those who dance are all misled
So you packed your things and moved to the other coast
Said you gonna be like Charlie Rose

And only the wild ones give you something and never want it back
Oh, the riot and rush of the warm night air
Only the wild ones are the ones you can never catch
Stars are up now no place to go... but everywhere

Only the wild ones give you something and never want it back
Oh, the riot and rush of the warm night air
Only the wild ones are the ones you can never catch
Stars are up now no place to go... but anywhere

Or Paul Simon meets Vampire Weekend. Definitely thought of Paul before the singing started...
If there was no PS, this would be an easy "8"; but alas - makes it only a "7" in my book.

Bill just played this - Dispatch, calling to mind Paul Simon and Phil Collins - right after the new track from Rolling Stones, featuring Lady Gaga (and Stevie Wonder).

This is why I cannot understate how grateful I am for Radio Paradise.

I think you mean overstate, in which case I agree!

it says it was released in 2017. where does it say 2002?
this makes me smile
this was just played yesterday. what gives, RP?
Thought it was Paul Simon at first.
This song with a laggy internet connection is some extra timing fun

Has something of Paul Simon about it.  Which is never a bad thing.

Even the album cover.
Oh, this reminds me on great great times at Fusion Festival near Berlin.

Spend those Eurodollars all the way from Washington to Tokyo
Poor Charlie Rose. I miss his excellent in-depth interviews. Sure, what he did was wrong, but not worthy of having him banished and his career destroyed forever.

Nice, but sounds like a lot of other songs. 6 for now. It is a catchy tune.
Had me thinking it was something by Hozier at the start...seems intriguing at first listen! Keep up the good work, RP!
For me, the lyrics seemed forced into the timing of the music...like a closet crammed with too much stuff that gets all busy and disorganized...
Huge fan of Dispatch's early work, this one is solidly nice.

Nice tune, but I'm assuming the line "Said you gonna be like Charlie Rose" is referring to someone other than the disgraced TV interviewer?

Never heard this tune, and calling it a 6 off the bat, does have a lo-fi sound to it, maybe that's what's holding back a 7 or higher.

And some Reddit posters mention hearing this live and the line being changed to "Rosie O" - kinda funny.
