I was on the F train
Thinking 'bout a holiday
I was on the M1
Dreaming 'bout my getaway
Let's try reset
In-flight headset
Feeling like I'm fifteen
Wandering with the misfits
And all went silent
Purples, violets
The kind of cursive quiet
One with the starry eyelids
A sweet unsweetened
An eve uneven
The lights trailed like incense
To the figure in the distance

You are all I need
Nothing said could change a thing
Where you go, I go, just say, I'll bе
'Cause you are all I need

I met thе King of Sweden
When I was walking in the headlights
Drowning in a bender
Frozen in a red light
I'm always flying
So I'm always crying
Losing my emotion
On a desert island
Looked just like heaven
Seven alligator seven
Spoke to the reverend
Still filled me with aggression
Slept dry in tents
The moon was glowing incensed
Was it the sun on the horizon?
It lit the figure in the distance

You are all I need
Nothing said could change a thing
Where you go, I go, just say, I'll be
'Cause you are all I need
And you are all I need
Oh, you are all I need

So much more
That means so much more

Such an underappreciated band... Remember watching them on Letterman. 8 years ago already? Letterman was such a good friend to music.  Keep rockin' Samuel!

He knocked them out in Zürich, one of the most critical audiences!
Fuck me, I love RP so much... this pops up, I know it.. Say this to the hubs, he agrees...  hey Bill, he will be 70 in August   wish we could come to the party.
Minnie the Moocher (Cab Calloway) refers to the King of Sweden. Is this some sort of secret musical code?
the vocalist's sound reminds me of the vocalist for Ultravox - especially in Reap the Wild Wind.

i can't get that out of my head whenever i hear this band. they just seem so 80s to me.
It took me awhile to like everything about them, but they sure are fun to hear and tap rhythm to...they're inventive, talented, wild; delightfully weird & deep!

I looked into this and there's wrong info here. King of Sweden was released in 2022 as a single and not on As Long As You Are album which was not released in 2022 but 2020.

I can confirm that, I have the album on vinyl and King of Sweden  isn't on it, pity. Saw them live in Brighton UK last year, great gig and one of the loudest I've ever been to, my ears are still ringing.
Ok. What's with the King of Sweden thing? First Minnie the Moocher dreaming about him, and now this.

Spotify doesn't list this song on the Album.  Any idea why?

This band is superb on record but my goodness they really kick 'live'. Went to the recent Alexandra Palace gig and they were so edgy and powerful!

A lot of a bands musics depth is lost in recording. Most people don't have master recordings with speakers so proper that it sounds as good as live. Not to mention the extra compression most radio stations put on their music to equalize volume levels so it sounds like you are trying to listen to a song from the bottom of your pool. Radio Paradise never disappoints me though. :)
I'd be willing to place a rather sizable bet that Samuel would be a very fun guy to go for beers with...
No doubt: it's growing on me. And very much so.

I also met the king of Sweden, not a very nice guy. Chased him with a boat once.
Very nice daughter though (Viktoria).

I had a dream about the King of Sweden. He gave me the things that I was needin'
I actually begin to appreciate these guys.
I like these guys, but man that 3 note synth arpeggio gets really irritating after a while.

"As long as you are" is a 2021 album, "King of Sweden" is a 2022 single, at least in Europe.

I'll bet there's quite a story behind that comment! ;o)
