Lover, I'm off the streets
Gonna go where the bright lights and the big city meet
With a red guitar, on fire
Desire
She's a candle burning in my room
I'm like a needle, a needle and spoon
Over the counter with a shotgun
Pretty soon everybody got one
I'm in a fever when I'm beside her
Desire
Burning
Burning, baby
Burning
Burn, huh, oh
She's the dollars, she's my protection
She is a promise in the year of election
Oh, sister, I can't let you go
Like a preacher stealin' hearts at a travellin' show
For the love of money, money
Love of money, money
Love of money, money
Money, money, money, money, money
Money, money, money, money, money, money
And the fever, I can't deny her
Desire
Desire
Blablablabla
Money makes the world go round
Makes the world go round
Makes the world go round
Money makes the world go round
Really?

Money money money
For the love of money ...
Ah, this explains why he recorded this tired version.
Also, that ending was a bit of a let-down.

To clarify - this is an interesting documentary on Netflix right now of him sharing about his upbringing and the adversities that impacted his life. It's actually quite an interesting blend of truth telling, performance art, and behind the scenes insights. Check it out - obviously not for the U2 haters around! [I agree with some, I don't need to hear this as an independent song, however].
What's the difference between God and Bono?
God doesn't walk around Dublin acting like he's Bono.

His ai did a great remix..
I could do better. Yes, I think I could.
no, no, no
this song was mediocre anyway but messing up the rest of his legacy on this album seems pointless

So blah
sorry, Bono. You were a huge factor in my teens and 20s but this is just the proof that you're a self-indulgent twat.
This has a prominent place in my "Unnecessary Remakes" circular file.
