First thing I remember
Was asking papa why
For there were many things I didn't know

And daddy always smiled
Took me by the hand
Saying, "someday you'll understand"

Well, I'm here to tell you now each and every mother's son
You better learn it fast and you better learn it young
'Cause someday never comes

The time and tears went by
And I collected dust
For there were many things I didn't know

When daddy went away
He said, "try to be a man
And someday you'll understand"

But I'm here to tell you now each and every mother's son
You better learn it fast you better learn it young
'Cause someday never comes

And then one day in April
I wasn't even there
For there were many things I didn't know

A son was born to me
Mama held his hand
Saying, "someday you'll understand"

Well, I'm here to tell you now each and every mother's son
You better learn it fast and you better learn it young
'Cause someday never comes
Ooh, someday never comes

Think it was September
The year I went away
For there were many things I didn't know

And still I see him standing
Trying to be a man
I said, "someday you'll understand"

But I'm here to tell you now each and every mother's son
You better learn it fast and you better learn it young
'Cause someday never comes
Ooh, someday never comes

Timeless Band, Its difficult to believe CCR never registered a No. 1  Hit in their career..
Cake followed by CCR - nightmare. Thankfully, it's just a blip and The Decemberists are here to save the day. And it's only November.
Looking forward to the full length version of Alice's Restaurant in a couple of weeks.
Wow, thanks for this!!
I only knew CCR in their "gulf coast" sounding songs. This is very nice, made me think of Van Morrison
Being in my 50's CCR was slightly before my time...don't recall ever hearing this tune before.  its a great one for sure

Nice idea!
Wow a CCR song I have never heard of thanks RP
Nirvana could have done a kick ass cover of this.
Long Live                                                                                                Radio Paradise
To me a            SOLID                                                                 8 - Most Excellent
CCR = superb, high-grade all-American band. Musically, all around they were an 8.
Saw John in concert last year. He turned 71 the day of the concert, and performed a kick-ass show. Young 'uns should take some lessons from this legend.
This is a nice, (relatively) underplayed CCR nugget.

Thanks

Another take in Cats in the Cradle. A very insightful song from the young.
It's a great great sound. Love listening to CCR
He recently remade this tune as a duet, and it's worthy indeed.
Sadly, the SHOUTcast application I'm using doesn't support the PSD button.
Someday Never Comes - Still can not believe this is happening in my lifetime again - a song from the 60th of CCR! {#Cowboy}

way cool flik

RIP Robert Stone 1/10/15...
Never get feed up listening to these real classics!

An outstanding song from a great body of work.

The recent version of this song as a duet with Dawes is great. I was playing it, and my son walks by and says "That's not Fogerty." (Yay that my boy knew who wrote it). And then John's voice kicks in and we both went, "oh yeah......."

He's lost nothing after these years. What a legacy.
Think it was September
The yeaaaaaar I went away
For theaaaare where many things
I didn't knoooooow.

Love the intonation.
{#Sunny} thanks, Bill.........
for some reason I think Eddie Vedder should cover this song.

these guys (john fogerty, actually) were vastly underrated.  the put out a ton of great songs.  yes, many of them were killed on classic rock radio (proud mary, et al) but their body of work was still impressive: born on the bayou, long as i can see the light, lookin out my back door, who'll stop the rain, midnight special, etc.,

and i like his voice,  classic american gritty rocker

Bad singing... If he had a beer to many...
Nice .... Good to hear a CCR song other thanProud Mary, et al
This great song hasn't been played here in 11 years?
Oh the memories.....
