Today I woke up feeling sad
I know that you said,
That one day I would be glad
Hold the Choirs of Winter,
The Birds are calling to me and
All the leaves I came to love are falling
Ribbons on evergreen, owls that pull them apart
I can hear you singing my funny valentine
Oh you know that breaks my heart
Hold the choirs of winter,
The Birds are calling to me and
All the leaves I came to love
Oh you know that breaks my heart
Oh you know that breaks my heart
Running with my rain face on
No Idea of what to say
No idea of who to do
In this fear that never goes
Waiting for all my dreams
Oh you know it breaks my heart
Hold the Choirs of Winter,
The Birds are calling to me and
All the leaves I came to love
Oh you know it breaks my heart
Oh you know it breaks my heart
Oh you know That breaks my heart
Almost everyone would agree. I certainly do.
Dido...pretty darn good!
Voice totally sounds like Sarah Maclachlan to me.

I just melt when this song plays….i loved it the first time I heard it and it still makes me pause and breathe.
There’s something so melancholic and completely soothing—if not a bit sad — about it.The harmonies and rhythms are magical to me.
Never heard of Faithless before RP….I’m ever so grateful…
Ugh...I h8 it when people mispronounce the word "idea"
In certain dialects of the English language it is not mispronouncing. Save your hate for things worthy of it. Some where someone hates the way you pronounce certain words... so what?

Seriously tho, where are you hearing about these guys and hearing their music, other than here? I was under the impression they're relatively obscure if you aren't an 2000's era trance head.
Id do her for fun if she IDd herself International Drug Detection Houma...good guy caught me taking legit scrip at the heliport when outbound to BP Platform, I don't remember which one... but I flew home first class after triny to sweet talk the inspectors. I was taking lee than the prescribed dose (About 1/2pill per morning/afternoon. Yay... IDD saved my life and didn't hurt Missy

I was going to say this reminds me of Delerium
Faithless - Evergreen (Live 2001)

I'll second that. It's so different from the usual Faithless output, which tends to go in one ear and out of the other. A beautiful and transporting song :)
Yes, I was about to comment about this tune being the real standout on that album.

In fairness they may have pronounced it right and merely spelled it wrong. I hate it when I am on the bog when this song comes on and can't hit PSD.

No, the October Project. A very distinctive sound.
Her name is actually Zoe Johnston. She also sings on 'Swollen' by Bent - is on RP's playlist. Kind of a bit like Sarah, Marina Belica and Mary Fahl - but different. I love them all!

This is one of my favorite!
Odd accent and odd way of saying idea in the song.

Egypt anyone?
If things keep going the way they are, every city on the planet will look like that
cha'! of course!!
Thanks Fred, saw several Eschers this year and your pointer brought back the experiences nicely. Now I have to go look up Dotore Phibes.
Wikipedia is your friend. Dr Phibes was an unforgettable 'Phantom of the Opera' character played with tongue firmly in cheek by the late, great Vincent Price.

Berlin......every 1.of May in the last 25 years...
Nice song though.
Keep the faith.
Nice. I have similar memories of a Hybrid CD and west Texas from a few years ago: Santa Elena Canyon, the Davis Mountains, and a tornado off in the distance.
I was compelled to google the singer. Her name is Zoe Johnston.
Last I heard he was on a highway to . . . oh, never mind.
The French group Air creates electronica music, but it has a human component, and initiates live; then is recorded. Your argument is a red herring, served with a dash of slippery slope. The spirit of the argument lies in the quality of live drummers, who can then be recoded. It happens all the time, and is vastly superior to modular programming-if the drummer is talented that is.
Tell me of a successful recording artist who didn't record in the studio. Art is artful, artifice, artificial.
Completely agree => 9
Maybe that's how the album became Evergreen. Someone left the faucet running.
Where the heck is Ohio?
BTW, most people are unaware of it.... Bonn is Bono's mis-spelt little brother.
where the fuck is bonn ?
Dude, its in Ohio! Everyone knows that...
where the fuck is bonn ?
A joke, right?
Google Earth tells me that Cologne and Bonn are pretty much neighbors.
Nice joke.
Cool song, btw.
where the fuck is bonn ?
I'm not in context, but Bonn is a city in germany, rather large one too...
btw, great song ..

Pure snobbery. Performance and music aren't exactly the same thing. Based on that logic, everything should be recorded live.

Based on that logic, nothing should be recorded, everything should be performed live. Nonetheless, I agree with you P-J!
I'm with the Swede. Any new thing I hear I check out the drumming first. If it's fake I don't waste my ears.

Great stuff, RP! Always glad to hear Faithless and this song is a particular favourite.
Although Faithless are perhaps best known for featuring Dido on vocals, the singer on this track is a lady called Zoë Johnston. I think you'll agree with me that she does have the most incredible voice - silky, sultry yet with a perfect clarity and pitch.
If you can get to see Faithless live please do - they are such a great live band.
Until I read your comment, I would have bet money that the female singer was Sarah Mclachlan. But yes, Zoe Johnston does indeed have an incredible voice!
