Love and happiness...
Something that can make you do wrong, make you do right...
Love...

Love and happiness
Wait a minute...
Something's going wrong
Someone's on the phone
Three o'clock in the morning, yeah
Talkin' about how she can make it right, yeah
Well,
Happiness is when you really feel good about somebody
Nothing wrong with being in love with someone, yeah
Oh, baby, love and happiness
Love and happiness...
Love and happiness...

Happy say

Love and happiness
You be good to me
I'll be good to you
We'll be together, yeah
We'll see each other
Walk away with victory
Oh baby,
Love and happiness...
Love and happiness...

Make you do right... love'll make you do wrong...
Make you come home early...
Make you stay out all night long...
The power of love...

Wait a minute,
Let me tell you...
The power of love...
Make you do right... love'll make you do wrong...
Make you want to dance...
Love and happiness...
Love and happiness...

Love is... wait a minute... love is...
Walkin' together...
Talkin' together...
Say it again...
Say it together...
Mmmm....

LOVIN' A PENIS
This dude is still cooler than cool. 10!

BillG?

and the same with "1"?
Love the low 'Bwahh' horns in the middle!
As sensationally moving as when first played.  Dizzyingly good stuff.
Shit Hot my friends.
It's always good when Bill takes us back to 1975

I love Al Green, and I love Radio Paradise!
In the mood for a "9" - this is the moment :- )

Good idea.
Al Green was an absolute master of the "I'm trying to get laid" genre.  A great song to put on when you are entertaining for the evening!

How he managed to avoid the Robert Johnson fate has to be one of the mysteries for the ages.

I would have gone to church if the Rev. Al was officiating!  Oh wait, we used to go on Saturdays.  Oy

Or just give out 10's very, very sparingly. That's my modus operandi.  Otherwise, next it'll be giving out 12, and so on.

Even Christianity would  be worth it. ( almost.)

Saw him live 25 or so years ago-by the last song the entire audience was standing on their chairs going out of their minds including me-talk about a religious experience!

Al Green singin' 'bout it.
Once again, it ain't the words, it's the way you sing the words.

Yeah!!  Brilliant idea!   BillG ?   —— Al Green's brilliant too, and would sure be someone I'd use that button for.... all his songs are too short.  This one's one of my few 10's ratings.

I discovered a way. It's clunky but at least was repeatable one midnight walk 10 months ago:
1) Google Pixel 3 phone
2) the song you want to replay playing from the cache (in my case Anushka Shankar live at  Carnegie Hall)
3) as it's ending, take a long exposure photo using night sight
4) this must completely peg the phone's cpu while processing, and the music will stop
5) when the photo is saved, the song starts over.

That horn has me looking in the rear view... a diesel rig that needs me to get out of its way
Al Green recording many classics in the 70's ....love his music!...
The rev layin' it down.  Love it.
Awesome Al.

There's over 100 "sampled by" listings for this Al Green track....take a look and see if you find the tune you're thinking of....and of course this is a great way to look up a lot of other samples used....and also of course...Long Live RP!!

If you use JRiver Media Center to stream RP, you get better sound quality and get to see all the songs in a list and can go back to any within that section or play the whole set again. It's affordable but not free. Downside is that it doesn't sync exactly to the web playlist so makes it's harder to keep up with ratings, comments, etc.

Magnifique artiste, une voix exceptionnelle, des chansons intemporelles et éternelles.

Best soul song in space.
Al Green is a world treasure; we love him here in his awaytown of Cornwall. UK.

It depends on which "current stuff" you're talking about  There are plenty of artists still recording soul music which doesn't have those elements which you list.  I'm not so sure it's up to a white person to speculate how much "soul" a contemporary black recording artist has anyhow.  Still, it's not fair to compare just about any other singer to Al Green.

It's probably Charles Hodges - he was the primary session organist for Hi Records.
Who's playing the organ in that Jimmy Smith fashion?

Geeez..Al Green, Marvin Gaye, Spinners, Ojays, Isely Brothers. There was a brief time when "soul RnR" music had it's moment.

Amazing how such restraint results in such a groove! This song fills me with Love & Happiness. A solid 10

Always surprised to hear this in the rotation.  Seems like there are others Al Green songs that would fit in better with the RP vibe, IMO.  But being a big fan of his, I'm not going to complain about hearing anything by him!

Altho a different version and excellent version is Love and Happiness by Amazing Rhythm Aces..
wonderful
Did anyone catch President Obama's version of Let's Stay Together?  He is pretty good.
I know I'll be voting for him.
He's playing Jazz Fest again this year. Can't wait to see him!
Oh god the horns.

First Bill gives us the doctor, then two men who call themselves Jesus & now redemption...love this song.  No wonder, it was my ring tone when ring tones were cool!
this is sooooooooo tired & abused as a commercial jingle.. could definitely be set aside & revived in 5-10 years.
