(This... Fire... Grows... Higher...)

When there's a burning in your heart
An endless yearning in your heart
Build it bigger than the Sun
Let it grow
Let it grow
When there's a burning in your heart
Don't be alarmed

(This... Fire... Grows... Higher...)

When there's a doubt within your mind
'Cause you're thinkin' all the time
Framing rights into wrongs
Move along
Move along
When there's a doubt within your mind

When there's a burning in your heart
And you think it'll burst apart
Oh, there's nothing to fear
Save the tears
Save the tears
When there's a burning in your heart

And if you feel just like a tourist in the city you were born
Then it's time to go
And you find your destination with so many different places to call home
'Cause when you find yourself a villain,
In the story you have written
It's plain to see
That sometimes the best intentions
Are in need of redemptions
Would you agree
If so, please show me
(This... Fire... Grows... Higher...)

When there's a burning in your heart,
When there's a burning in your heart, (This... Fire... Grows... Higher...)
When there's a burning in your heart, (This... Fire... Grows... Higher...)
When there's a burning in your heart, (This... Fire... Grows... Higher...)
(This... Fire... Grows... Higher...)
When there's a burning in your heart.

The tickets have just turned up for my lad and me to see DCFC live here.  Can't wait ...

Ditto to Plans (and it's only $4.38 on Amazon right now!).

When there's a burning in your heart.....Tums
Very good - thought they did a great job supporting the Foos last year.

Love these guys (I do), or not (some others here), you gotta admit that they can write a helluva hook.
Love it! Saw them last week in London, brilliant show!
Kinda O.M.D. - like with the marimba sound in the background {#Sunny}

Yep. I bought it in the basis of this track. I never seem to learn that often albums have just one standout track. . . sigh.
These guys just don't do it for me.
Lovely song on a rather disappointing album

This fire grows higher.

Why do I hear this song every single day on RP. I keep thinking i'm listening to some lame FM radio station.

What has "god" to do with it?
And what god is meant, anyway?
America and god - a never ending story of its own!
Truth is:
This band has 2-3 exellent songs one each album (except "Keys and Codes")
The rest is mediocre to say the least!

Critics say it's their best album!
I say: it's certainly their worst and most boring one!

If "NARROW STAIRS" was an "8" -
"KEYS and CODES" is no more than a "5"

I was an am extremely disappointed!

These guys are so hit or miss for me. And this is a miss.
Packed show at Red Rocks last night.
I really like Death Cab but this is close to sounding like cloud cult... :/  cool guitar riff though

God, I love these guys

Isn't there something a little reminiscent of Big Country in that opening riff? If someone already posted this, sorry—no time to backscroll....
wow

made me think of Jon Anderson

Pretty damn awesome

Pet Shop Boys...with guitar! Like!

Musically this track has lots of great hooks. As a drummer, that drum pattern is ADDICTIVE. In a way, with the emphasis on the last beat of the bear (thanks to lots of snare) every second bar feels like the end of a verse, it really pushes the track on. (...almost like the drummer was jamming a two bar pattern, and the guitarist walks in and hears it halfway through, realises it sounds amazing and tells him to play it that way!) The guitar refrain's also pretty damn catchy. (and let's not even get into the lyrics!)

The album's really well mixed and mastered too. (sound engineer in me coming out, sorry)

First heard this track when I watched their one-shot live take for the music video, think it's still on ustream/justin.tv/youtube so well worth a view if you like the track. I'm a bit so-so with some DCFC material but this one is deffo on my Rated playlist. Cracking little track.

actually... the link you posted is showing completely different song lyrics. here are the correct ones:

"You Are A Tourist"

This fire grows higher
This fire grows higher
This fire grows higher
This fire grows higher

When there's a burning in your heart
An endless yearning in your heart
Build it bigger than the sun
Let it grow, let it grow
When there's a burning in your heart
Don't be alarmed

This fire grows higher

When there's a doubt within your mind
Because you're thinking all the time
Framing rights into wrongs
Move along, move along
When there's a doubt within your mind

When there's a burning in your heart
And you think it'll burst apart
Or there's nothing to feel
Save the tears, save the tears
When there's a burning in your heart

And if you feel just like a tourist in the city you were born
Then it's time to go
And define your destination
There's so many different places to call home
Because when you find yourself the villain in the story you have written
It's plain to see
That sometimes the best intentions are in need of redemptions
Would you agree?
If so please show me

these guys have really grown on me...echos of Jon Anderson here as well...

Love Love LOVING THIS TUNE!  Must get the album pronto!
IT'S ONE OF THE BEST TRACKS COMING OUT OF 2011 - {#Angel}
Sounds just like the Avett Bros.  Nice!!
Its a burning and a hunger for sure...I don't want to be alone...I want to let it grow...
I nominate this as the song of Summer 2011.
Whoa! DCFC with some punch and energy. I like it a lot.
love
Nice!
Bumped to 9 after seeing the video. Splendid stuff. All done in one take and reminds me of Mrs Poacher.

This is growing on me.
Did this band used to be (or perhaps want to be) Lightning Seeds?
You know, this is really beginning to grow on me...
I've heard this song a number of times, and that opening (and repeating) guitar riff always reminds me of Big Country.
Been listening to some of the other cuts on this CD when they release them to fb. This one is definately the strongest of what I've heard. Lots of effects and weird vocal effects. Very strange production. I usually buy the whole CD but I'll pass on this one and just buy the ones I like. Sorry DCFC, usually I'm a big fan!

Me too; the baseline grabbed me, the solid drumming beat me up, and the cool guitar riff finished me off. Nice video too. {#Music}

Interesting tidbit I heard: they are filming the video for this song today (4/4) and will do it all in one take - no matter what it looks like. Supposedly, people can also see it being done live.
The beginning reminded me of Mike Oldfield's Mount Teide, because of the vocals...

Sounds nice!
Had to come login to the page to find out who this was and comment - great tune!
Yeah good new Death Cab !
I love this song immediately.
What an honor - I'm first {#Smile}

(Oh, and a nice song so far)
