Gives a sense of urgency to our kiss
Even the flowers on parade
Fear soon their cameos will end
We are friends because we know how much it means
Sharing in the story given the ending
Somewhere someone now writes our names
But this edition's limited
So when we touch let's keep in mind
This flesh is rotting all the time
And when we make love be advised
Tomorrow we could both evaporize
If there's something you desire
Confess it now while we're alive
And when we make love keep in mind
That there's a universe inside
This sexy creature

Is it just me, or is "Chinawoman" a dubious choice for a stage name?
Also, Dude, "Chinawoman" is not the preferred nomenclature. "Asian-American woman," please.
Me too! I can't decide if I love it or hate it. Either way, I feel compelled to listen to it.

Decision made: I really like it.
what a crazy, little song....I can't say I like it, but I can't stop listening.

I always thought this was a guy singing!

It's not that bad. Bad is when someone else throws up a little in your mouth.
Open your mind, mountain biker! Her voice wanders in and out, seemingly without connection to the meaning in the words she's singing! That lights up my mind! (all the way to its 40-watt limit!)
Show off.

I like it too. I can't say why exactly, but it hardly matters. And I don't care what anybody else thinks.
But it is fun to read the comments...

It's pretty cool; nice guitar work.

To paraphrase Aerosmith - lady sounds like a dude...
Sexy, huh. Just went from a 7 to an 8.
Why would he/she/they have an adam's apple only whenever you hear this song?
This song has grown on me.

In the end...does it matter? This is a pretty good song, and her voice is in the range of, say, Nina Simone, Joan Armatrading, Chrissie Hynde, and Annie Lennox. It's all good.
Not sure if this debate is really important but when she sings in Russian (her first language), it's totally natural. I have no doubt a woman is singing :) I imagine they make her voice lower on recordings to make the songs even darker.
Check out this song too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xeeosq6jGzE
This is 2 days later. I have to say that I think she is truly a woman, and born like that. I combed through all of her live performances, and yes, she looks and acts more like a born woman than many born women I know. What does it really matter you say? I swear, I have no idea.

Chinawoman's latest single, To Be With Others (2012), marks her first release since her move from Toronto to Berlin just over a year ago, and continues in the sultry, emotional and matter-of-fact style established in her two full-length albums. Driven by a subterranean beat, dark synths, and signature deep vocals, the new single comes paired with a music video atypically featuring the songwriter herself, in black and white, delivering the monologue in an East Berlin motel.

Edit: wait! Bill just said that was a chick singing! Never would have guessed. There are several dudes played on this station (Michael Miller anyone?) who sound way more like chicks that this chick does.
