My thoughts exactly, like a cross between Cake and Phil Collins!
By far my favourite song off this album.
For the first seconds I expected Cake to start singing..
Gonna place an early vote for this as Album of the Decade (so far).

Anybody else willing to put it in your top 5?

Great track from a great album!

My personal favorite is I Guess Time Just Makes Fools of Us All. Groove and lyrics are just in common.

^ amen!

The phrasing and tempo reminds me a lot of the John Butler Trio.
It’s cool, but it’s a little repetitive.
I'm hearing anything but original!
dirty, weird and a little psychedelic.
perfect!

Flash In The Pan. Not sure if it's this song, but FITP just played and I "Ah Ha! That's who FJM reminds me of!" (Not "Ah Ha" the band, btw)
Klingt nicht neu, aber klingt gut.

I find it interesting that RP no longer feels the need to censor out profanities, Does this mean that we can look forward to Steven Wilson's "Self" being played without that irritating edit? Or has this one just fallen through the crack?

Either way, this is a good tune.

And to answer my own question, yes Steven is allowed to swear now too!

Wait, did RP just bleep the f-bomb in the first verse? Unprecedented. Unless that's how RP received the cut. Interesting.

Radio edits are no fun
Mmkay, I'm loving this.
Having watched the video, assuming he wasn't just hamming it up for the camera, I can confidently say that he can't dance.
That refrain reminds me way too much of "I can't dance, I can't walk" ...

Who else likes a woman with a short skirt and a long jacket?
What a cool song! Upon an attentive third listening, I find this work of art full of wild and lyrical imagery; all weird, dark, and disturbed in a delightfully startling Jim Morrison-istic way... To me, the music is sparse, fuzzy, intense, and reminiscent of BRMC's jammer"Berlin"...

I normally agree, but then I think about when my children were very young and what they always repeated....

I like Father John Misty and love RP incorporating new music but the "Fuck" in this song is so loud and clear, it definitely raised some parents eyebrows upon hearing in my orthodontic office.

I recommend the book by Michel Faber - in fact I recommend all his books.  My favourite book of all time is his masterpiece The Book of Strange New Things.
hard for me to not move with that groove!
Love this! So Cakelike
I could have sworn this was Cake
Nice. I'm hearing a bit of Cake going on here

Not a big fan of FJM, but this track totally works! Or maybe more of his stuff is like this and I need to go deeper..?
Parts of this sound like Genesis' "I Can't Dance".

Youtube
This guy has it.
Zowie!! Just downloaded the record. Thanks again RP!!
I could have sworn this was Beck.
More Father John Misty, please.  His earlier albums also deserve to be played here - particularly Pure Comedy.
Has this album been released in the future and brought back in a time machine?

Puget Sound represent!
Good vibes.
Super curious to find out more on this guy.
