Its the slight over-compression, saturation and slapback delay on the "regular" vocals with this band that just doesn't sit with me.  Luckily Ms. Stewart comes to the rescue on this track...

Guitar riff and drums sound pretty similar to "Io Sto bene" by italian punk band CCCP. Not saying this is a bad thing at all. But maybe you people wanna find out more amazing music ;)

It's really growing on me too, not so much because of Lord Huron which is usually 'meh' for me but because of the woman's voice and lyrics. 8 from the Nottingham jury and rising.
