Where the hell are you running to
Trying to find yourself a life'
Look at yourself, you're standing still
The night could cut you like a knife

There's no hope now left in this world
So you think and you still fly
Take the time to look in front of you
It's a matter of your mind

Waiting for the night to come
Tell me how you feel inside
Don't you know which way to run
It's a matter of your pride, matter of your pride
Matter of your pride

Tired of people talking what they're gonna do
What they said or should've done
Now I'm not waiting around for the axe to fall
Take my chances on the run

There's no hope now left in this world
So you think and you still fly
Take the time to look in front of you
It's a matter of your mind

Waiting for the night to come
Tell me how you feel inside
Don't you know which way to run
It's a matter of your pride, matter of your pride
Matter of your pride, matter of your pride
Matter of your pride

Take your time, think it over
Take your time, think it over
Take the time to look in front of you
Take the time to look in front of you
Take the time to look in front of you
Take the time to look in

Take the time to look in front of you
Take the time to look in front of you
Take the time to look in front of you
Take the time to look in front of you

Glad to see i'm not the only one that thought occurred to.
I really liked In A Daydream from this same album, but this one is just...okay.

Twenty. As at June 23. Bravo Bill et al.

FJB vocals remind me of Great Caesar’s Ghost. Great band I first heard on RP. Looking forward to hearing more of both these great bands.
Caught them live a few years ago, good stuff.

If they were great, why did you shoot them?  Sorry if I'm overreacting, but you mentioned Chicago, and I just assumed ...
Reminds me of "The Samples" - a band from Colorado (I think) in the late 80s/early 90s and played here occasionally.

I was thinking Katell Keineg. After a little more listening it sounded more like a male voice than a raspy female voice.

There are so many "neo-hippie pop" groups out there...Pat Mcgee, O.A.R, etc This seems to be one of them, but sometimes, just sometimes, these songs really hit the spot. This is great for me, right now, but I'm sure if I bought the cd, I would be asking myself, "why oh why did I waste $15"..... Glad I can just hear it on here and be satisfied.

"if I bought the cd...why oh why did I waste $15"....

In all fairness to streetsintherain, that quote was written 18 years ago. That makes it one of the oldest posts I've seen on these music boards. I wonder if our friend ever imagined MP3 downloads being supplanted by all-you-can-listen streaming services for not $15 but $10/month.
Lightens the heart, easy, gives you that little inner smile.

Happy feel good summer music.  Nothing wrong with that.  Chicago boys.

15 years later, someone finally Takes The Time to note that they agree with you. :P
Based on the date gap between comments, I'm guessing this FJB tune hasn't played for quite some time.
BEAUTIFUL VOICE AND SNAPPY BEAT : )
Gimme Beer Nuts any day!
I agree with the consensus of the posters here. This is a lightweight, somewhat groovy tune that just breezes in one ear and out the other in a pleasant way. Sometimes it\'s nice to have a break from the heavy-hitting I-love-this-song-with-all-my-heart or you-couldn\'t-pay-me-to-listen-to-this-one-more-time songs we often get on a station dedicated to an eclectic mix. We don\'t always want filet mignon...occasionally circus peanuts are nice. It\'s a solid 7 in my book.

I, for one, can't wait to find out :D I love the guitars in this song.
Likeable, and with a gentle, everyday mental health kind of lyric.
I like it, a nice tune to have in the mix :)

Not offensive just not very interesting. Bland.
It\'s got a good beat. I\'ve been bouncing in my chair since it started.
