You Lucky Duck!  I wish I was there!

I Agree!   GREAT TUNE!!  Very well stated!  Thanx RP!
Nice bhngara beat.

Wonderful.

It means "kiss my ass" in Gaelic.
The dark strings sound a little like the "House of Cards" opening.

Don't know if that was a patriotic tribute made on purpose, but the singing slightly reminds me of early Simple Minds. Excellent tune anyway.

The opening sounds like Delhi 2 Dublin, slowed down a wee bit.

I like Afro Celt quite a bit.  But give me a few beers, Delhi 2 Dublin playing at warp speed in the festival party room, and I'm in pretty much bliss

Good call. Usually ACSS are a bit more 'spacey' than D2D, but in this song they've gone the full Indian hog.

For those wondering about D2B, have a neb at their website or track them down on Soundcloud. Well worth finding if you like your Bhangra Celtic-flavoured.
Pinkish, progressive. I like it a great deal.
This is irritating the shit outta me, and nothing happens when I press PSD.  Help!
May be my mood cause the sound in most of this set has gotten under my skin…gratingly tinny at times

It's possible that they may have recorded it for someone other than you.

And up goes the volume control from 3 to 11.
Extremely good.
I love how Bill shows not only the average rating, but also the histogram so we can see the distribution...they often tell very different stories!

A tad off-topic there, Lazarus. As it happens, in Scottish Gaelic "lagan" means 'hollow', and is common amongst Highland placenames. See the excellent site Ainmean-àite na h-Alba (Placenames of Scotland). As the celtic section of the Afro-Celts are Irish or Scottish, I think it's more likely that it's this meaning of "lagan" that the song's about.

Email exchange between Edward Snowden and former GOP Senator Gordon Humphrey

Former two-term GOP Senator Gordon Humphrey of New Hampshire emailed Edward Snowden yesterday—

Mr. Snowden,

Provided you have not leaked information that would put in harms way any intelligence agent, I believe you have done the right thing in exposing what I regard as massive violation of the United States Constitution.

Having served in the United States Senate for twelve years as a member of the Foreign Relations Committee, the Armed Services Committee and the Judiciary Committee, I think I have a good grounding to reach my conclusion.

I wish you well in your efforts to secure asylum and encourage you to persevere...

Really really good stuff !

Although there is no credit given to PG, this cd is on his REALWORLD label and he sings and plays on track three "When Your Falling"

IIRC there's full credit given to Peter Gabriel on the CD cover (I'll have a look when I get home), and he was the Afro-Celt's miwife. This is acknowledged on the Wikipedia entry.

Like anything of this great combo. Seen them live in montreux, SUCH an experience!

almost the same beat as "meet her in the backroom"
enough already.
Great mix even though I didn't like the song before...English Beat to Afro Celt...

hah! what's Gaelic for "hokey", "terribly dated", and "overplayed"?

Pòg mo thòin ;-)
How can it be "dated"? The ACSS (Wikipedia entry) has only been in existence since 1996 and this CD came out in 2001. Is your concept of time so narrow that 8 years is "dated"? Or is that a reference to the Irish and Scottish melodies and rhythms being used?

They both are beginning to drive me crazy?

One of my favorite Afro-Celt tracks, and I love these guys a lot.

One of the better tracks off this album. Huzzah!

And, unfortunately, we are fighting carp again. I, too, have purchased THREE ACSS CDs since I began listening to RP.
Just feeling the flow.
bill, you're really workin' your wiles on me these past few days. may have to make a second august donation.

dunno about this song specifically, but they are or have been on his label: he does vocals for a song they did that got a decent amount of pop radio play over the past six months.

Curently my favorite band. (It changes pretty often though). And Thank you RP for th introduction. OK, I\'ll admit their songs do sound very much alike but I really like that sound! Another admission is that within that narrow range, this is not one of their best.
thought it was Cher for a minute.
I have heared these guys at several Glastonbury festivals. Good mid-afternoon set material. They work well in that setting. Not sure I would buy their music to listen to at home...
Nice instrumentals.
I love this. Got their CD from listening to RP, but I have to mix it up with other music. A little bit of ACCS goes a long way with me.
Definitely better when collaborating with people like Robert Plant, Sinead O\'Connor & Peter Gabriel. Who\'s the vocalist on this -- or are they doing the damage all by themselves?
