Well, did I tell you before when I was up?
Anxiety was bringing me down
I'm tired of listening to you talking in rhymes
Twisting around to make me think you're straight down the line
All you do to me is talk, talk
Talk, talk, talk, talk
All you do to me is talk, talk
Talk, talk, talk, talk
All you do to me is talk, talk
If every sign that I see is complete
Then I'm a fool in your game
And all you want to do is tell me your lies
Won't you show the other side, you're just wasting my time
All you do to me is talk, talk
Talk, talk, talk, talk
All you do to me is talk, talk
Talk, talk, talk, talk
All you do to me is talk, talk
When every choice that I make is yours
Keep telling me what's right and what's wrong
Don't you ever stop to think about me
I'm not that blind to see that you've been cheating on me
You're laughing at me when I'm up
I see you when you're crying for me when I'm down
I see you when you're laughing at me when I'm up
I see you when you're crying for me
All you do to me is talk, talk
Talk, talk, talk, talk
All you do to me is talk, talk
Talk, talk, talk, talk
All you do to me is talk, talk
Talk, talk, talk, talk
All you do to me is talk, talk
Talk, talk, talk, talk
All you do to me is talk, talk
Talk, talk, talk, talk
All you do to me is talk, talk
Talk, talk, talk, talk
All you do to me is talk, talk
Talk, talk, talk, talk
All you do to me is talk, talk
Talk, talk, talk, talk
All you do to me is talk, talk
Talk, talk, talk, talk
All you do to me is talk, talk
Talk, talk, talk, talk
Yes they S L O W E D down and became dark. Their early stuff was the best of it all.
IDK. I like ALL of their stuff! Thanx RP!
This got me into Talk Talk back in the day. Their style changed massively over the years, but I remain grateful to this pop classic for opening the door.

Ah, the memory of me as a college DJ thinking it was amusing to say "Now here's Talk Talk from Talk Talk's album Talk Talk." Eventually, I realized that sounded really stupid.
You were right the first time. It is amusing.
A perfect example if the blazingly awful music of the 1980's. I did a little math and if you took all the LP's sold in the decade of the 80's and laid the 12" square jackets neatly side by side they would cover roughly 44,000 acres-- the size of Brooklyn, NY coincidentally. Submitted for your approval in the Twilight Zone, a music-lover could crawl over that landscape DAYS AND DAYS before finding a record worth playing.
If you don't like it Zippy, hit the "skip button"! Problem solved! ....and spare us from your long winded B.S.!!
Just kidding, still pretty good though.

"And before that we heard 'Bad Company', by Bad Company from the album Bad Company"
Society was bringing me down
Well, politicians, they keep talking in rhymes
And:
In this song, Mark Hollis of Talk Talk sing sings about the anxiety and torment that is bearing down upon him. Communication, especially talking, is a common theme for Hollis, who was notoriously terse and enigmatic in interviews.

To me it sounds pretty funny. Gotta admit that adolescents and young adults spend a lot of time..... talking.
Yep. That's one of the ones that bites deep for me.
I saw them open for Elvis Costello 1981 at the Landmark Theater. Cool show. I was there for Elvis, but Talk Talk won me over.
Thanks Bill!
Especially in their later albums... Spirit of Eden. OUTSTANDING work
oh for god's sake
Bad Company - Bad Company
Or did the band name themselves after the song?
Bad Company - Bad Company
The later stuff is still so much better.

massively disagree with all of this, but it's funny.
