Greatest rock band ever......
Agree.
(obviously) not my fav LZ but ok. I gave it a 6
Greatest rock band ever......
Yeah they are great. I like to say they are the Rush of the UK
Listening all day every day from Isla Mujeres, Mexico. Don't know how I could get through this damn corona lock down without Radio Paradise your the best. www.islatrip.com
What? That's terrible! How long have you gone without your beer?!
But Mr. Moon is the greatest rnr drummer. Every single Who song, you can hear something unique about his drumming. You can't say the same about Bonham. Like on this song. His drumming is OK, but not Moon-like.
never cared much for lyrics, but this tune is really funky and gets me up and moving
I agree!
Cannot believe this is so old. Outstanding song. 1975 seems to be a great year for music.
Many of the tracks on PG are leftovers from previous efforts by LZ so even older than you might think
Did I say love it? No?
Love it.
BillG does play about 4 tracks off of Dreamboat Annie - though a few more from my hometown group would be good too....I think the radio hits (like Barracuda) are featured on the Rock Mix and not so much the Main Mix. Long Live RP!!
hoo hoo not bad
Hide-and-seek.... not your game.
Many have "alleged" that gravity exists too.
Very good song!!
Oh what I would do to hear the the Zeppelin catalogue with "first time" ears?!!! Enjoy the journey - this album alone kept me occupied for a long Long LONG time!
Very good song!!
wiki'd to find out where that funk was coming from:
The song was written by Robert Plant, Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones, and evolved out of a jam session in 1972.
Much rehearsal went into perfecting the relentless semi-funk riff that dominates this song. John Paul Jones has credited Stevie Wonder with the inspiration for the beat ("Superstition", 1972), which he played on a clavinet.
wicked : )
Well at least they credited their source on this one. Which hasn't always been the case.
Great song and terrific band anyway.

Wicked indeed! When I heared the first couple of notes I wondered if this would be Superstition. And then I heared Plant singing ... naah, it can't be ... so I opened the RP site and voila

Now some Procol Harum, please?
Nah, they're gonna go over like a lead balloon.
beg to differ, they rock!!!!!!
Nah, they're gonna go over like a lead balloon.
This kind of new bands these days rarely get more than one album out before they fade into oblivion. Kids' attention span is insufficient to be able to work together for two years !
Hello Romeo McGonagall, that made me laugh. Is writing poetry what you do when not running your multitude of churches?
I write an average of 420 poems a day... here's a poem I wrote 34 minutes ago—
Les Nuages
Some people keep their clouds beneath their feet,
some over their heads.
Some people hide inside their clouds instead.
I hope life is grand for you right this minute, jameshay...
everybody in my alien space craft loves this song... we be dancing buck naked and cross-eyed like Willy Shakes...
I prefer this song to a cup of tea anytime...
here's a poem I wrote about tea—
tea
and pee
taste the same
to me

Led Zep will always be my favorite all time band. There are some close seconds but none like the Zep.
This album is awesome, definitely my favorite, especially the second album. Let's go Boogie with Stu and a Black Country Woman In the Light Down by the Seaside before you know it Ten Years Gone.
Maybe, but it is not my cup of tea...

What?
Yep yep yep..I hear it from the other side of the ocean!
What?
And the next track Kashmir is even better 11.
Bite your tongue!
This is one song that does not allow passive listening. It just sucks you in.
This is a brilliant song... love it...

Re 2003 vs. 2011: not that much different to me; some outstanding stuff from each era and mostly really lousy stuff from both eras. Sort of like every era. IMHO, mind you.
Interesting to think "Trampled" was released only 8 years after "Grapevine". Does 2011 music sound so much different from 2003? Discuss ....
Actually, this is Robert Johnson - Terraplane Blues. I assume you are referring to the hook of course. The link indicates that this was a LZ tribute to the original which used a Terraplane as a metaphor for sexuality and infidelity. The entry for this song references The Complete Guide to the Music of Led Zeppelin as indicating that, yes this is a song about sex :-)
No, I hear Franz Ferdinand's plagerism
It's impossible to say for certain, but there is a distinct possibility that the lyrics may allude to sexual congress.
That, or Plant really, really gets into working on his car.
Aha. Sexual congress.
I should have done a quick lyrics search. My actual problem was that I couldn't understand a damned word he's saying. It's only too obvious seeing it in print. Had they had lyrics-search in the 70's, I probably would have spent less time in the garage.
Odd how I automatically do a lyrics-search for any song recorded after 1995. For anything before The Internets, I just assume the only way to figure out the lyrics is to put my finger on the record to slow it down a little bit, or ask my stoned friends.
.
Thanks Bill!
How the F? is this at 7.6?
Single handedly??????
No. That is not necessary. Zep is THE best band ever! Fact.
IMHO
Best band of the 70's - Stones
Best band ever from England - Beatles
Other better bands ... In others eyes, not mine - The Who, Pink Floyd, Grateful Dead, Aerosmith, In mine... Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Radiohead
So..... It ain't fact, its opinion
For what it's worth: I always thought it was about f*cking - utilizing car parts / mechanics as metaphor. Of course - I was only 15 yrs old when I came to that conclusion...

That, or Plant really, really gets into working on his car.
Seems pretty clear to me that he's comparing having relations with a woman to tuning up a car...
You said it. Annoyingly long.
What? Don't you love your car?
Dig that heavy metal underneath your hood

Anthropomorphism:
Ascribing human motivation, characteristics, or behavior to things not human, such as inanimate objects, animals, or natural phenomena.
so just tell me that Franz Ferdinand wasn't influenced by this!
He's talking about love.
"8"
No. That is not necessary. Zep is THE best band ever! Fact.
How can anyone say that a single band is the best in any genre? With Bill & Rebecca constantly exposing me to new bands it have given labeling something "The Best".
IMO!
Plug in the left speaker, that should sort ya out.
love the song btw.
While I like LZ, as do most listeners here, this is monotonous.
