Another example of why we need ½ ratings. To me this is better than 7.0 but I don't think I'm ready to give it 8.0.
November 5, 2019: Just heard an NPR story about mellotrons, and it included Mr Medeski as a principal source.

Thank You for the link! MMW use a LOT of early electronic keyboards! Such as Mellotron & Wurlitzer Piano!
There's something about that keyboard groove I always recognize as MMW.
I Agree! And, they really kick it, playing with John Scofield!
Such a smooth segue from A Man Called Adam. The art of the DJ is in rude health whist Bill's still twiddling his knobs :o)
He (wisely) recycles. Just heard the same segue a year later.
Keep 'em coming!

very interesting, thank you for posting that, I had never heard about any of this

That's funny!
Will require another listen or two.
Just what a wet saturday of admin drudgery needs.
Is there a difference between soundtracks for bad and good pom films?
It's a subject of continuous debate, but one would have to pay attention to the music to make a "considered" judgement.
Sections of this song sound like the soundtrack to a bad 70's porn film (or what I've heard a 70's porn film sounds like).
Keep digging, as they say.

Must be on account of the mighty organ, mate. Fnarr, fnarr :o)

Is that necessarily a bad thing? It seems to be the sound they were going for.

Does replacing a star for the letter u really make any difference? it is as if you are saying you disapprove of the word but want to use it anyway...the reason that got started as a tradition is because some companys' web sites have software to prevent the word fuck from being typed...I would do that when I posted from work just in case, but I doubt it was necessary
Yes. Yes I can.
or maybe they just think it goes really well after Beck.
(PSD for me, sorry Medeski & co.. )

Also counsel to "Car Talk." Guess they get around.

Wondering if they know my bankers: Dewey Cheetum and Howe. (I'm very very sorry about that)
Yes, I miss Joe Strummer too.
I wouldn't know; I guess I'll have to take your word for it. I wouldn't think most of them ever heard of this band. Not a bad tune...once in a while.
I wonder if RP re-uses it's playlists.

And if they had lyrics that were inteligable they would be stating the current tax code.
omg that is SO funny!!!
Given that I don't care about the album art, I guess we agree on rating it a 2.
