Just 80%?   I would have thought more.

I recall my Norwegian mother conversing at length with a neighbour who was Swedish.   My first language was Norwegian but I was somewhere around 3 to 5 years old and I would have been unlikely to perceive a sharp disinction between Swedish and Norwegian.   ;-)

Yes well, as a Swede I can tell you that Swedish and Danish are not that similar
My ears are never bored here.
SUPERB!!  I gave it an 8       PS: I have 5 pairs of Fiskars scissors (LOL) ...some early morning levity!
This is really pretty music. I agree with the earlier commenters about it sounding a bit like Vaughan Williams. It reminds me a bit of the Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis but is more restrained without the sweeping swell of that piece.

You were not far off. There's 80% linguistic overlap between Danish and Norwegian as the country used to be part of Denmark back in the day.

As far as I remember the TV series, it was...erm an aquired taste. It was fall-asleep TV if I recall

So how was the Danish TV series?

Danish Wikipedia has an article - https://da.wikipedia.org/wiki/...
Was this ever a smooth transition from the National. God damn, that was inspired.
Ten.
Well, this is a bit special isn't it.
My 10 year old just walked in asking "Dad, what is that?" and sat down to listen with me.  Both of us hearing a song for the first time that stopped what we were doing to demand a listen.  I love that I got to share that moment with him.  Thanks RP!

I believe Bill & Rebecca are the best (dj's) lol ever and its not all perfect but so many options to skip, play a different mix, etc etc. They have broadened my music tastes immensely .
Is it 'Melody in A minor' by Ukrainian composer Myroslav Skoryk ? Very similar!

If you haven't heard it before like me, then it is new to you as well.
Solid 7 from me on first listen.

I agree. Ralph Vaughan Williams was my first thought. Gorgeous!

And great set: Orbison: Mystery Girl > Fiskerne theme > U2: Song for Someone.

never thought I should hear Hans-Erik Phillip on RadioParadise!
{#Think} It is truly a great radio station we got here....
thumbs up, Rebecca and Bill

This reminds me of my childhood in front of the TV set. The story of Fiskerne is written by Hans Kirk and tells the story about the tough life among fishermen and their families on the west coast of Jutland, Denmark in the beginning of the 20th century.

Oddly reminiscent of the Chinese music that one heard on Cantonese music stations in the period after China started opening to the West. (mid 70's)

not available anywhere?
This is lovely.
Wow, never heard it. Instantly love it.
Ethereal - divine - yes, I love it!
Just beautiful....{#Good-vibes}
Beautiful.
Followed by a tune with a theme/signature not unlike it. What guy who cares about music is thoughtful enough to give the music what it needs to have maximum effect? Why, that would be Bill...
Of course, this song by ATE is by/from a jilted heartbroken sap, so it's hardly a happy song...

Scandinavian music pops up regularly on RP. Maybe Bill & Becky have a thing for Vikings {#War}

This piece goes straight to the heart and the gut, and feels almost unbearably poignant.8 from the moved Nottingham jury.
Excellent. Thanks.
Straight to the iTunes wish list...

Thanks, RP for adding this wonderful little slice of lovely to my afternoon.  {#Daisy}
