Where the light shivers offshore
Through the tides of oceans
We are shining in the rising sun

As we are floating in the blue
I am softly watching you
Oh boy your eyes betray what burns inside you

Whatever I feel for you
You only seem to care about you
Is there any chance you could see me too?
Cause I love you
Is there anything I could do
Just to get some attention from you?
In the waves I've lost every trace of you
Where are you?

After all I drifted ashore
Through the streams of oceans
Whispers wasted in the sand

As we were dancing in the blue
I was synchronized with you
But now the sound of love is out of tune

Whatever I feel for you
You only seem to care about you
Is there any chance you could see me too?
Cause I love you
Is there anything I could do
Just to get some attention from you?
In the waves I've lost every trace of you
Where are you?

This geezer must be earning some serious wedge.  His stuff is everywhere on British TV these days.  Rightly so, too, it's great.

nice cut where the rock formation resembled organ pipes

I imagine if I composed music that it'd be like this, love this fella's work.

Nerdy art trivia: H.R. Giger designed that album cover (Koo Koo), for Debbie Harry.
It's nice to be here where the light shines.
Kinda easy on the ears.

Thankfully there are no comparisons to The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Mumford & Sons, or Tarantino soundtracks either.
A very fine song. Should be more often broadcasted
Great song from a great album.  Great RP discovery.

Thanks. That is a very impressive, well-conceived, well-made and high-concept video. A cut above the usual music vid, for sure. A very fine song as well.
..this sound is really growing on me...its very cool

Thanks for that - it adds to my appreciation of this song, as does the video.
Nice song. I just love a good baritone. Very rare in rock. Lots of tenors and falsettos these days.

That's where it can stay, stuck in 2013.
Sounds like Bastille, with Anthony and the Johnsons as lead, which isn't a good thing, by any means.
This album cover --> A Rush Of Blood To The Head

equals

My Sweet Lord by George Harrison --> He's So Fine by the Ronettes
His voice is just real, raw, connected, honest. He sounds like he's singing to me (I wish!). And the instruments/composition is so new and fresh. I LOVE IT!
Thanks for the hint: intriguing video!

The album cover reminds me that  I was in New Orleans a couple of weeks ago and had forgotten it was Halloween ............until I went out for dinner.

Personally, especially after watching the video (someone posted a link below), I take this song to be a "love letter" from Earth, as it were (not to get too philosophical) to Humankind. Watch the video - Woodkid (a.k.a Yoann Lemoine) produces videos as a profession, and the one for this song is pretty amazing. The central figure (not the organist) is intensely exploring Earth and is filmed in many renowned natural locations, almost consumed by his obsession, until he is ultimately consumed by Earth itself. Wish I knew what the organist says at the beginning, or even had a guess at the language.

Anyway, that's my read on this.

Cheers!

This just became the greatest song and all I heard was the first 30 seconds so far.

Amazing -- THIS is what music brings - aliveness!

Nice one:-).{#Dancingbanana}
Wow. I must not be listening enough to RP, because this is my first hearing of this song. So unexpectedly refreshing and different - and ultimately stunning.

Kind of a Peter Gabriel meets Severt Hoyem with just a dash of Pink Floyd (esp. the orchestration on Atom Heart Mother, not to mention the surreal video). But this is music that is entirely its own, with nothing out there like it that I've ever heard.

Great discovery Bill, great pick (this is the best of several standout tunes on the album), and just a great freakin' song. A solid 9.

I've heard a couple of things from this guy now. I hear Bauhaus.

Wow, I would never have guessed French. There are no accordions!
and speaking of too many plays.........................
I do too much programming, because I could swear he is saying: 'In the ways of love I stack a trace of you'

Definitely my favorite song of the month (at least)!

Not sure what to think. This is very different from so much popular music. Very enjoyable and hope to hear more from him in the future. Thanks RP.

Wow. That is truly a work of art, a proper high-concept short film, not just a 'pop video'. Thanks very much for the pointer. Best watched in full-screen HD. Makes me appreciate the song many times more than just listening to it, as a proper video should do. Love the whales :)

Another instant 7 imho.     ( INSTANT 7 - sounds like a lottery )

Have been listening to "The Golden Age" almost non stop since it was released in March. Haven't got tired of it yet, & specially not tired of Love You! Great to see a French singer songwriter doing so well!
not sure why--but I really like that. In fact, more each time I hear it...
Enjoying this. Alot.
Quickly thought this might be The National...only lite. I stand corrected.

Boy I'll say.
Decent, a bit over-orchestrated for me.
Very nice opposition between the percussion and violin.  This song could really grow on me.
The day I was going to upload this to the LRC Channel I discovered it was already on the main channel, ha ha ha, Bill always a step beyond...
lovely
