All lines are read, the film is done
After hours is on and now they'll make another one
If you miss the meaning this time
Well here comes another one
And if you clap your hands, the man will fall
Hold your breath, he'll shake himself to death
And scenes get rearranged
When words are said
Every day I hear knock, knock, knock
Oh, and it's you
Oh, every day I hear knock, knock, knock
Then I see you and you're shaking
And you're breaking
And you tell me I'm your only friend
And it starts all over again
You said you were living in a buttoned-up world
Living in 1892
Aw, there was nothing they could say to convince me
To blame nobody but you
And your hand is on the trigger and you know it's gonna blow
But you don't give a damn, don't care who's gonna know
You just want everyone to talk slow
And give you consent
Every time I hear knock, knock, knock
I know that it's you
Oh, every day I hear knock, knock, knock
And I see you and you're shaking
Oh, you're breaking
So I put down the poison pen
And it starts all over again
And it starts all over again
After hours is on and now they'll make another one

With that drum intro, for a moment there I thought we were about to be Making Time for Nigel.
Glad to hear this back in rotation - such a great tune!
JAM!

Everyone knows Pink Floyd invented minor chords and all aspects of guitar strumming stuff, right? It seems to be a requirement that there is at least one "sounds like Pink Floyd" comment applied to every song in the playlist.
Just demonstrates Floyd's musical impact.

I’ve always thought this was the closest thing to a modern day version of a ‘Pink Floyd’ song as I’ve heard?
EXCELLENT!
Though I like the Spoon, I just discovered a new dimension in listening to them loud.

To me the abundance of "sounds like Floyd" comments simply demonstrates the enormous influence the band had and continues to have on music.

This song destroys my Name That Tune skills.
What do you mean that isn't the opening to XTC's Making Plans For Nigel?!

The raw and fun funky syncopation these wacky talented guys from Austin can generate is staggering, and you just gotta see 'em live

I guess sometimes they don't write them to your specifications.Quit yer bitchin' and take the time to listen.
For a while I have lived together with someone who literally was looking for the one single perfect song. He spent a considerable part of his spare time on downloading everything he could find, superficially skimming through it in a way that made it impossible to enjoy any of that music in any way. He simply seemed to have a model in his head for the One Perfect Song and somehow believed it to be available somewhere. His expectations for music were so single-minded that he could never enjoy it. This was not the only indication that he was probably the closest thing to a psychopath I have ever met, but it surely was one of the most obvious ones.

I don't know how this group passed me by, but RP are making me double take (again). I like everything I've heard so far.
I'm enjoying the 'Floyd / Bowie homage with the dose of Weezer / Cake sunshine on this cut.

Sorry Spoon but this is the third song I rated less than 4 in a row! -> PSD!
I can normally put up with this track, but not after Kosheen and Oingo Boingo...

The best thing I canny about Spoon, is they're not quite as bad as Cake.
Fabulous song!

This album really blew me away when I got it. Different, more mature and more expansive sound from an already brilliant band. Wonderful record to listen to all the way through.
Edit: looks like Bill read all y'all's comments about the Bowie influences here, followed this up with Sound and Vision

like it. reminds me of an older band, but I can't think which one right now... It'll come to me in a minute...
Quite a heartbeat.
I really love how this band, much like The Cars in their day, is - ON - THE BEAT! and never misses with their wicked wacky twist-fits.

This is a really cool track, and Rainy Taxi and Outlier are two other standout songs from this album. Hint hint Bill

He already plays Inside Out from this album which I think is fantastic as well. Also enjoy New York Kiss.
Glad to know they sound good live, was wondering the same thing. Hope to catch them some day.

The more I hear this, the more it blows me away... The bass, the drums, the whacked-out tortured distorted guitar, the talented vocals!

"Dystonic"? Pretty cool tune.
Yeah, it's a strange adjective to use in this sense, but the guitar seems incongruous and abrupt in relation to the rest of the song, not unlike an ego-dystonic thought, or "dystonia", abnormal and involuntary muscle movements seen in certain neurological or medication induced conditions. So I'm sticking with it...

Weird...I was just thinking about this song. Turned on Radio Paradise and it was playing. Apparently Bill's reading my mind. Great song from a great album.

Yeah, really agree on the Bowie angle. This is song owes a lot to Soul Love from The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars. Nice tune though.
Nice! I like lots of their stuff. They have a really clever and edgy quality to their music, and I dig the Bowie/ Lennon things in the vocals.

Bump 7———8!
sadly, as much as I like Spoon, this is nip, nip, nipping my head...
I really think that they are playing extra incredibly tight on this one! Whistling within songs usually drives me nuts; this one does it right!
On first hearing, an easy seven. Might go up!
I do hear the echo of Animals.

Spoon is the bomb.
Resurrects the embodiment of classic 70's rock executed in a smart contemporary way and Im from the 60's.
I uploaded a month ago, not sure if I received credit nonetheless glad it’s being played.
