Me too - saw it in the theatre when it came out and it *still* has some of the most chilling moments of any horror film ever - with nary a drop of blood.

We saw Australia last weekend.

My wife went gaga for Hugh Jackman, that paid off for me later.

Another fact based film.  Pretty damn long movie.  Could have been shorter, it had multiple stories going on.

Many sad parts when characters died, or were separated, or reunited.  But they never addressed the death of the Aboriginal brother in law to the Jackman character.  I thought it strange that they did not develop that part of the film.

Nicole Kidman did well, but she has no figure.  Stick woman.  I think Kate Winslet would have been better in this role.

The wife and I saw Changlings.  It's a true story.  The people in the theater were mostly old folks.  I suspect they came to see the movie as they remember the story when it actually happened.

It's a tear jerker.  The old guy sitting next to me was sobbin like a baby.  Wierd.

Good movie.  I don't think it Angelina deserves a nomination for it.

Just caught it. Darker than I expected - but a pretty good film I thought. Wouldn't make my top 20 - but plausible (well it would be!) & some fine performances.
The only jarring element was Angelina Jolie's lips - my God they look awful!!

I saw a sweet Norwegian film last night that I really enjoyed..  One of those that makes you laugh.  The characters are very quirky, but you really adore them.
It's called ELLING   If you can get a hold of it, I highly recommend.   {#Mrgreen}   http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0279064/

Very cool that Gregg was there (his kids went to the same private school as my kid for a few years.  He seemed like such a normal guy back then. )  Did you like Gregg's answers about the bailout?  I'd love to hear something to make me feel better about it...

Similarly, in the Inconvenient Truth, I was hoping for more action steps at the end, because we all felt so blown away and helpless.  Did this movie have some proactive suggestions?

Besides "Be Informed" and "Vote for those who care about the deficit"?  Not really and I think the film-makers meant to do that.  They didn't want to come off as being one-sided and I think any type of action statements would tend to steer them that way.  Its goal I think was just to inform in a way most people could understand

Well there was one that I remember and it was to make sure that you only buy stuff you can afford and to make sure that you have a savings account and use it.

Judd was very candid with his answers.  He basically said that there can be no such thing as combined increased spending with lower taxation and logically I think we all know this to be true.  If you aren't bringing in money, you shouldn't be spending it.  As far as the bailout question ("rescue package") what he said didn't make me feel great and i don't think he felt great about it either.  He basically said that their hands were tied.  To not do it would mean that other smaller banks would fall and we would be in even worse shape.  I think basically that's the opinion of most of congress.  You may be able to find something good in that.

Yup. The audience sat there stunned when it was all over. The cool part was that Judd Gregg (NH senator and instrumental to the "Rescue Package" or "Bailout") was there and was fielding questions as well. It's a scary thing to watch because it is so real.
