Watched the opening ceremony today (we recorded it last night)... wow. It was even better than the other opening ceremony. Fantastic.

our coverage sucks.  5 1/2 hours of coverage will be shown after it's all over.

Good show there GB. {#Cheers}

36th position in the medals table in Atlanta 1996 with only one gold medal. Steady investment and improvement since then til 4th in the table behind USA china and Russia in Beijing was the best I thought we could possible do. Now this time we have 27 gold medals already and it looks like we will finish third. Blimey.

Wonderful story, that 16-year-old from Guam who finally finished the 10k swim today. Refused to quit. That's what makes the Olympics special. And, of course, Pastorius.

And an American finished a race with a broken leg today.

Yes, pathetic. You're likely poking a "little" bit of fun at us. That's okay. I loved Bill Maher's tweet recently that stated how thrilled he was that the USA was beating everybody "in gym class". Not exactly a tough task, I believe he was suggesting. Anyway ... not staying up nights worrying about it, and neither are you, surely.

Funny old boats, the Star. Over a hundred years old, and a weird damned shape, tiny jib and enormous main. Saw a nice early example in the Maritime Museum in Stockholm a couple of years ago.

  And a lovely place it is !

 In the triathlon we have asked for a shared gold medal,don't really know why...9/1000 of a second is after all the distance swimming,biking
 and running still a loose by 9/1000 sec,or so the clock say's.
