The Tom Baker Dr. Who was the only one for a long time on Dutch TV. When the show was cancelled here I thought it was because people here didn't like it. It was only recently I found out that parents petitioned against the show because it was "too scary for kids"... I was one of those kids, and I LOVED it... and was scared, yeah, but that was part of the fun :sadface:

They're advertising Sat. the 23rd as the start of the new season on BBC America. I'm looking forward to it!

New series starts on the 26th April. From the trailers it looks interesting.

If you get a chance, check out the special that was part of Comic Relief. It raises some serious issues about the glass floor in the Tardis.

Yeah, I could have put this in Celebrity Deaths, but... ya know... Dr. Who and Crew are way beyond mere celebrity.

Yeah.  And the concept of the monster was pretty cool, even if taking over peoples minds is the best thing in the monster world since sliced bread.  Oh and the new assistant is feisty.  I like.

Well the "plot" of this ep was pretty much in the back seat to introducing the new Doctor, companion, TARDIS and setting up the underlying, season-long, story arc that has been part of the 'new' series formula since "Rose".

And I loved "Basically... Run."

yeah.  Funny though isn't it - a lot of people seem to prefer the 'ordinary' episodes to the less mundane blockbustery specials. Looking at the website it seems that there will be  a return to the usual good stuff for the rest of the season.

How are you watching Dr. Who, on a PBS station? The only thing I have is the pod-casts. I use to get it on the NH PBS station which I can no longer receive.
