I was very disappointed in Obama's speech last night. I thought he looked like he was trying to hard to please the media with some emotions, against his character, and that religious crap at the end turned me off.

But he is a politician. He has a lot of people to please, as well as get an impossibly large job to get done.

Those who have never tackled a huge problem in a management environment prolly don't have a good picture of how long it takes to get anything done. This is the largest disaster in American history. It isn't like a hurricane or airplane attack, that comes and goes, this is ongoing and long running.

The government never before has had to be micro-managed by the public and the media, like Obama's administration is. IMO, this is a backlash to the Bush Admin, which not only kept everything a secret, but lied and manipulated the media. Once bitten twice shy.

I would tread lightly when mentioning secrets and lies when discussing this administration vis a vis Mr. Bush and his team. Very lightly...

Micro-managed?  Team Obama rams full speed ahead even when the public in a majority is saying, loudly, NO.

I wonder what Rick Barber's stance on our foreign policy is. Too often 'tea party' types rail against a bloated, wasteful government but are ready to further these wars all over the middle east to 'fight terror'.

They are incapable of seeing the correlation between the two. Maybe one day he will get it.

It is promising though, to hear that guys like him are giving the grand ol party fossils a run for their corrupt money.

I can't help but to admire just how brilliant this ad is!  Seriously.  In hindsight it is rather humorous that the straw that broke our (the colonies) camel's back was a tax on tea!  I think this was a smart ad.  Would I vote for the guy?  Uh, who knows.  I've never voted or not voted for a person based on their position on one individual issue.  Like all other political ads, it's just a soundbite, not anything of real substance.

This however is a man caused disaster, and requires rapid intervention.  It is fair to note that it took BHO 12 days to show up and check out the disaster first hand.  Pretty casual response to what is going to no doubt be one of the greatest ecological disasters of the 21st Century.  Any fifth grader figured that out by day 3 when the well was found to still be leaking.

One could say that Limbaugh's remark mirrors the casuality of BHO's response.

I don't take Limbaugh very seriously, but I do listen and he does make sense now and then.

{#Yes}  Bingo.

The problem with Rush is that he doesn't make it clear if he is serious or joking.  Unlike some commentators, he does not issue frequent disclaimers saying that his show is "for entertainment purposes only", or use any of the tools that professional comedians use to let the audience know that it's humor.  I believe that, just like the Fox "News" Channel, which only issued a single disclaimer that, despite the misleading name, that they were in fact an "entertainment channel", that Rush is trying to deceive as many people as possible.

For a caught-red-handed drug addict, I have not seen any effort more than what was necessary to keep his fat ass out of prison, when it comes to recovery.

Unless and until Rush gets serious about working on his drug addiction, he simply cannot be trusted.  Therefore it's obviously a big problem when lots of people trust him.  I believe in personal liberty, so if Rush wants to slip into insanity, I say that's his prerogative.  But he has zero right (and should not be given the privilege) to let his insanity hurt innocent people.

OK, I listen to Rush occasionally and did in fact hear the quote aired live last Thursday.

So, since they're sending SWAT teams down there, folks, since they're sending SWAT teams to inspect the other rigs, what better way to head off more oil drilling, nuclear plants, than by blowing up a rig? I'm just noting the timing here.

It was said with tongue in cheek.  Very different than what the headline implies.  As usual, another over reaction to a smart ass remark by Limbaugh.  He says things knowing he will be misconstued and misquoted.  There is a whole industry devoted to listening and twisting his words.  As usual, context matters.  People take this guy much too seriously.  But on the other hand, some people still believe that the New York Times is a credible newspaper, so go figure.

So, Kurt, Rush was "jus' kiddin'"?  Seems to me it's just more mean-ness veiled behind sarcasm.  I used to spend a lot of time listening to Rush, and "kiddin'" is not something the man can pull off without ulterior motive.

Was he kiddin' here, too?

"You do survive these things. I'm not advocating don't care about it hitting the shore or coast and whatever you can do to keep it out of there is fine and dandy, but the ocean will take care of this on its own if it was left alone and was left out there," Limbaugh said. "It's natural. It's as natural as the ocean water is."

I mean, all kidding aside, that kind of attitude is Just Plain Stupid
