PRS = very nice guitar. An old roommate of mine bought a PRS back when we were in college. Not sure if he still has it, and, if so, if he ever plays it.

How strange! Maybe they have different branding over there, a trade mark issue or something?

Absolutely, I'm firmly in the Gibson camp for the sound I want - Humbucker pickups sound sooo nice. Mind you, for the price of an SG, I'd have a custom guitar made in an SG style, if I had £2000 to spend. More realistically a Santos Martinez electro-accoustic (nylon string jobbie) would be nice (the Ovation I had a go on didn't sound so good unplugged). Back in dream land a handmade Spanish would be a dream come true, as I still prefer playing the Spanish guitar best of all, but my 36 year old one will have to suffice, and it is well run in now!

I don't play electrics as much anymore.  I have a nice Hohner mahogany acoustic that gets plenty of play.

I had the tremendous pleasure of seeing Paul Galbraith perform in an intimate setting in a local church a few weeks ago — Bach, Hayden, and Albeniz.  His unusual set up and incredible concentration, skill, and feeling made for the richest sound.  Ahhh ...

I personally prefer the Fender sound and Gibsons are quite expensive anyhow.  SGs are ludicrously over-priced for what they are (IMO).  I guess it depends on what you want though.

The list of top guitarists who use a strat is beyond impresive. Strats, new off the shelf, are not all that expensive but they are way ahead of others when it comes to being the choice for many top players.

That is a great deal. I bought two of the wall hangers for my acoustics at home. A little pricey, but I like them because they keep the guitars up off the floor. I have a stand like this for my Strat.

Speaking of pawn shop owners, there's a great song by Guy Clark about a pawn shop guitar:

That's a darn good price...I picked up a new one at Guitar Center a few weeks back and I think I paid something like $11....

I paid $10.99 at Guitar Center for that (or it looks like that one) so that's not to shabby.

Edit:  Also I've ordered from that website (a ukelele for my daughter for last Christmas) and had no problems.
