When people spend & borrow more it creates something called hyperinflation, prices go up. Which some economists see as a good thing.  Unfortunately, if the average workers' wage remains the same, that's seen as a bad thing.

Do you have any solid evidence to support your insinuations of this alleged "hyperinflation"?  Or are you just a good little GOP minion, spreading FUD, hoping to wreck this nation out of spite?

WTF???  You're going to have to be a little clearer with your ad homienm attack on me.

I've been accused of a lot of things in my life, but being a GOP Nation wrecking minion has never been one of them

By the way, I voted for Obama, not the Repubs

According to Chicago's ABC O&O, former SBC CEO Bill Daley was appointed to advise the transitional team.

This is the first name that caused me to wince.  Daley might not be scandal-plagued (yet), but he's danced with the Devil far too often for my comfort.  The Republicans, the racists, the doubters and plenty more people will be waiting to pounce on the slightest misstep on Obama's part.  This President-elect can't afford to become associated with anybody who might make good fodder for the neocon propaganda machine.

{#Think}  Well, I did kind of damn the Johnny Depp movie "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas".  Personally I thought that "Where the Buffalo Roam" starring Bill Murray was a lot better film.

{#Stupid} Was that here? {#Doh}

That reminds me of an old SNL sketch that they dusted off for Monday's election special.  The sketch's premise was that Ronald Reagan was only pretending to be a doddering fool, and that in private, he was a highly industrious but megalomaniacal leader who worked his staff like dogs.  Funny stuff! {#Lol}

Sadly the probable real truth about Reagan is that his Alzheimer's was probably more advanced than any Reagan aide will ever admit while still living...

Unless Dubya ends up having some mitigating factor like Reagan's illness, puppet or not he still was the one to take that oath of office.  So if the American people decide for justice for what happened during his watch, he will hang alongside the others.

{#Whisper}  Let's not pile too much on Obama's plate right away... {#Wink}

I'm not damning anyone's motives, so I wonder why you're directing that to me.

Imagine having intelligent discourse without mindless-fear-mongers shouting everyone else down. {#Idea}

IMHO Barack Obama said it better the first time, in his "no red states, no blue states, only the United States" speech.

I don't see how paying off your debts, and being free from crushing interest fees could ever be viewed as "lives flushed down the toilet".

People who had their IRA's  in mutual funds run by morons are hurtin'.

That's a completely different issue.

...and perhaps we could give our new president the opportunity to demostrate what kind of boss he is before we judge after less than one day?

....just...imagine...

  Indeed. However, if Servo's post is correct (and I have no reason to think it isn't), he is already demonstrating, after less than one day, he is committed to getting down to business.

I was disgusted by the amount of time GWB spent away from his duties. Worse, he let his lackeys puppetmasters run the show. Rumsfeld made no plans for securing Iraq? Cheney awarded Halliburton a blank check to rebuild Iraq?

As much as I dislike GWB, I think the people around him are the ones who really did the damage. Maybe I'm not giving him enough credit: he could be an evil genius too, just better at hiding it than Cheney.

I like to think Pres. Obama is hitting the ground running. When GW hands over the keys in January, it appears the New President will have his people lined up and champing at the bit to get started.

But you're right about Obama jumping right in today.   He's already named several people to his transitional team, has secured an invitation to sit in on Presidential briefings starting today, and has asked at least one person to take a key White House position.   And that's all before noon!

 Outstanding. I was wondering how petty things would get, but I guess the "work" of the incumbents has already been done and they just want to go home and go about trying to construct some kind of legacy that will paint them in a better light than their actions deserve.
