His markings immediately make me think of "Sooty." Very interesting fella, and lucky to have chosen your family.

Lola! He came to us when a friend was driving down the freeway and the car in front of her threw something out the window. She watched as she drove by and it was clearly a tiny tiny kitten. Pulled over, picked it up and called Justine for help. Justine took her in, named her Lola Rolla and because she was about 5 weeks old, whisked her in to see if she could be spayed. They said no because he's a he. He's still called Lola and when people ask where he came from I say I met her in a club down in old SoHo.

ANYway, Lola's ear is ripped off, not sure by what, and his leg was completely dead, dislocated and floppy. It probably predates being thrown out the window because he wasn't in any pain. The sad mystery lives of stray animals. The vet took the leg off at the shoulder. They asked whether they should clean up the ear a little, but we thought that was a little too much pain for one day, so he's still got a shaggy ear. And his fur has a subtle white line where his leg was taken.

And he's a goddam rockstar kitty.

just curious

Normally I would but I've met this Maine Coon and we got along really well. My friend has been accumulating kitties and now has 8 and she wants to give some away. Its a 3 y/o Maine Coon like Stinky was except this one is  a gray tabby and not white.

So $2500 later left with one less kitty and didn't even get to have a proper goodbye with him. He had showed no symptoms.
A friend is supposed to visit me later this year and she wants to bring me one of her Maine Coons so I may end up with him.

We have some new cats since you've been here last.
Mac and Tosh pasted a few years back. We now have 4 cats.
Poop Francis (solid gray girl). we found her outside at 4 weeks old. she is 6 years old now.
We adopted two kittens from a shelter - Butternut (orange boy) and Ember (Chocolate tortie girl) they are siblings. I think they're 4 years old now.
we also have a feral girl that adopted us. Her name is Momma (Calico) I helped her with a few litters of kittens before we were able to get her spayed. She has become very friendly and lives in our yard. I am able to pick her up and cuddle and she follows me all around the yard when I'm out gardening. We have a 2 shelters for her and any of her friends that might come around.

Maybe buzz can post some photos.

I think she is thanking me for having her infected canine tooth surgically removed by the vet right before Christmas. Vets are a whole lot cheaper here it turns out. Unfortunately the closest one was 40 mins away and I no longer drive so that was fun. Hard to believe she us 10 years old already.

I hope she can excuse the faux pas.
