what's the point of taking down their site if the FB page is still up? and why did they decide to leave the Bonneville Salt Flats post up with the video? Bud Light said they haven't sponsored them for years. I read in one article that they probably were back in Canada before the warrants were issue since Yellowstone was their last stop on the trip. and only 3 warrants were issued because one of them is using a fake internet name and they are having trouble IDing him. I've spent too much time digging through comments but I like a good train wreck, especially in slo-mo. if they think they have trouble now, wait until the major networks start running the story on tv. this FB page is gathering all the stuff they deleted. they're a bit over the top in their zeal to shut them down.

Too bad they didn't take a few wrong turns and have their car break down in a choice neighborhood of Camden that night.

they drove across the Bonneville Salt Flats in the big-ass bus while towing the idiots behind on snowboards. the Flats were wet at the time. Apparently, this can damage the salt flats and is illegal. This video is still on FB. there's a screen shot of one of them climbing a Holocaust Memorial in Germany. the comment said they were parkouring. another photo shows two of them at Machu Picchu in a restricted area. One of them was dressed as Pokemon's Pikachu. How clever! According to the comments captured in the screenshot, they said they were warned 18 times while there.
Quiet {respect please} This calls for...An Abe costume and noisemakers!

They were in a PR quandary, that's for sure. They would have left it if it were merely defenseless, but it kept coming back to cars and the highway, and people were watching it and whatever was going to happen would have made the Park Service seem uncaring/incompetent. I think they settled on this as the least damaging option. But you're right: the ideal scenario would have been for those people to never touch the bison, and for a pack of wolves or a mountain lion to take it. Or for it to starve and die a miserable death. Because nature doesn't care about that.

altho lo and behold most of the brucellosis that's gotten into cattle has come from elk, not bison. Still, the baby would have been placed in quarantine etc. The initial articles made it sound like this calf was taken from a herd, though. A mama might leave a calf curled up and so I can imagine the thing looking cold... but that's not the case. It had already been abandoned and was probably hours from being something else's prey. Which is not a happy outcome for the bison either, but for the wolves up in that valley, it's what they do. So the Park really wanted that to happen. It's not a zoo; the animals aren't fed... if there's not enough food, animals die. This tourist, it turns out, probably did not alter the calf's destiny, but some predator might have been cheated. I don't know, but I assume that once the animal was euthanized, they took it out and left it for the birds.

In other news, the tourist who picked up the bison calf might have done the wrong thing for the right reasons. It sounds as though the calf had been abandoned before being picked up.
