Fantastic news here in Seattle. A private group led by Chris Hansen has announced that they will fund a stadium without public funds. There is one street vacation that is still an issue, but this is a big change. This is big news for local hockey and basketball fans, but also an interesting signal that public funding is not required to build stadiums - This is good for the public.

Vegas? Really? I know we don't have a stadium yet in Seattle (and I'm not a fan of publicly funded stadiums... other rant goes here), but Vegas? Sheesh our city counsel better get off their duff soon (another rant goes here). Vegas. Maybe they should go look at Arizona for a history on desert hockey... vegas... really?

So I was a Buffalo fan when I had a room mate from there but most recently it was my niece who went to uni in Pittsburgh. She's a tiny thing but I wouldn't want to cross her. Except Philly. No matter the sport, they suck.
