American voters seemed to have forgotten most of the nitty, gritty of the Vietnam War.  Why should Joe understand what was going on more than 2 millennia ago?

Ahistorical Americans put on quite the show of righteous ignorance not so long ago during the chaotic exit from Afghanistan.

This is too vague for me to understand what it is that your southern neighbors forgot.  Please expand.  P.s. I'm old enough to remember Viet Nam and i was a voter in the last election and pretty much 100% of all the prior.  Just don't make the connection.  And willing to assume its something i missed.

This is a long, but respectable discussion...probably good for a road trip.
p.s.,ultimately these discussions revolve around God/No God...good luck with that.
But i think they flesh out some of the misconceptions held between religion/belief and atheism, which are valuable.

This is 4.5 hours well spent.

I stand corrected. Otherwise, large parts of the 'beloved' movie industry would be subject (not to Spotify) as well... Thanks!

Yes, that is all too true about the movie industry, sadly.

Is it really that simple? What's the official role of the (free) press in your country's constitution? ...and what has become of it, until today? ... Whistleblower protections, check: "According to Reporters Without Borders the United States ranks behind most other Western nations for press freedom, but ahead of most Asian, African and South American countries."

Spotify's new content guidelines prohibit "dangerous" content that "advocates or glorifies serious physical harm towards an individual or group". It also prohibits content that "glorifies" breaking the law - but isn't that what 80 or 90% of hip hop music is?

"It also prohibits content that "glorifies" breaking the law..." That phrase does not appear in the guidelines which you posted the link to. There is a phrase prohibiting "content that is intended to promote or commit an illegal act of any kind".  "Promoting" is not the same as "glorifying".

Joe Rogan Apologizes for ‘Shameful’ Past Use of Racial Slur
His apology came as listeners said that as many as 70 episodes of “The Joe Rogan Experience” podcast had been quietly taken off Spotify; the company has yet to comment on the reported removals.

Ek: “it is important to me that we don’t take on the position of being content censor.”

"Last week, a Spotify spokesman revealed that the company had removed 20,000 podcast episodes related to Covid-19 which fell foul of their guidelines."

You do realize that Canada removed its troops from Afghanistan in 2014...and was there as recently as August (2021) picking up 3,700 people left behind by their withdrawal 7 years earlier.  There are still people there awaiting Canadian relocation support.

It's amazing how much better everyone would have done something, had they not abandoned it a long time ago.

Jordan Peterson's claims about climate modelling on Joe Rogan podcast debunked by scientists
Peterson said: "There's no such thing as climate, right?"

Wrong.
Speaking on Rogan’s podcast last week, Peterson claimed that the climate was too complex to be modelled correctly and the models we do have are full of errors. This was quickly highlighted by scientists as a false claim.

Peterson was widely criticised for spreading climate misinformation on a podcast with over 11 million listeners per episode. He responded on Twitter by citing a book called Hot Talk, Cold Science by S. Fred Singer.

Singer was an American atmospheric physicist who died in 2020. He argued that climate change was natural and not exacerbated by humans emitting carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. DeSmog reports that Singer was funded by known climate change sceptics, including the Heartland Institute.
