The CD (that I first discovered here on RP) contains the original version of "No Surprise" and is absolutely stellar (Turning Down Water for Air). I have the CD in the player of my car and whenever I'm driving around my California homestead and need a lift, or just a musical complement to the beauty all around me, I just press play and have the album continue from wherever it was in the track list. Never fails to raise my mood and make me feel even happier to be alive.
I have always loved this song, and I'm lucky enough to have seen him perform it to a handful of people from a tiny stage in an English village at a delightful mini festival.

Heard it a hundred times here at RP (not familiar with whatever commercial it might have been in), there are 606 ratings so far... And I've never come to see who it is. I like it fine, but that sort of requires me to knock it down a peg. So 6.

brianbf1986 - too true. I think the worst times in my life were when I didn't have music to help me get through them. I made it, but it wasn't pretty. I guess I just need to remind myself to sing, dance, laugh, and have music as a mainstay in my life. Thanks for the wise words!

started out rather nicely, got a bit too busy with the melody before the singing, but all in all it is okay.I'll reserve a rating until i hear it a few more times.
